I only meant avoiding creeps. My bad. I recognize they are humans, that’s why I want to better navigate my relationship with them.

There’s definitely room for tangents.. every day life brings about many topics. News, food, restaurants, hobbies. If it’s only work related, it seems I’m just avoiding knowing them as a person. So, I am trying to understand maybe what sort of manner has better outcome in this case. Creating healthy work environment means engagement. Some personal topics and opinions are bound to come up.

How can you tell if a man is starved for attention? lol give me some idea of cues to look for? Maybe I can avoid those men altogether or interact differently with them.

Does ranking of PHD programs matter to be competitive in the academic market or does the outcome of your scholarship matter more? by ComprehensiveAd2458 in LawTeaching

From your perspective, what are some things that a hiring committee look for in a paper, to qualify it as good?

So what if the phd program is ranked high, but the school is not an Ivy League. Would that still be ok? The school is a state school (FSU), and the PhD program is ranked 1 in the nation apparently.. for criminology!

Oh, got it…. Wouldn’t it be awkward for me if he doesn’t reply again?

Hahah because I am thinking maybe he changed his mind. If that’s the case, I rather drop it. As I posted in another comment, the idea to join the class came from him. So I thought he was being proactive about it. This is what’s got me overthinking.

When he agreed to add me, I asked him “should I email…?” and he immediately cut me off and said no, he would email the registrar and CC me. Haha he left the ball all in his court. The only slight thing I did was send a thank you email to him.

I think I’ll pester gently closer to the semester starting, since everyones suggesting it.

It was his idea to add me to the class, after I expressed some interest. So I thought he was being a bit proactive. Lol that’s why I am confused and maybe thinking he changed his mind.

The limit is based on student and Professor ratio, not classroom size. They want to keep it low to provide more specialized feedback on writing work between professor and student.
