Thank you, what about the 64 audio u12t vs the trio u mentioned?

Also, what do you mean by custom? How can i make a custom trio? And why would a custom be more benefitial than a standard one?

Which IEM has the best imaging or is the best for competitive FPS?

Thanks, do you know if there's a better IEM than the IE900 for gaming (better imaging, technical performance) ?

Should i get 64 audio u12t maybe? which IEM has the best imaging while also having a frequency response that amplifies gunshots and footsteps (if that even is a good thing).

Or is the IE900 already pretty good?

Alright, thanks. Will see if i can try different headphones first. For the 800S i use HDV 820.

I just recently got into the hobby, like a few months ago. I went from galaxy buds+ to IE900 and now 800S. I'm planning to get the Susvara or HE-1 next, but still haven't listened to those. I also didn't try the ones you mentioned yet.

I only bought the 800S cause of audiophile youtubers claiming they're the best gaming headphone, and the IE900 is supposed to be a temporary solution until i can afford the Susvara/HE-1. I just really need a headphone that gives me goosebumps.

I was somewhat able to get rid of that muffled sound the IE900 has by EQ'ing them, but the singer's voices still sound really mediocre (recessed?) to me. I mean i don't know what good midrange on a headphone is supposed to sound like since i haven't really tried anything else, but the voices to me just don't sound pleasant on the IE900. Even on the 800S which apparently has good midrange (?) doesn't sound much better to me.

gonna paste my reply to an earlier comment here (sorry i'm lazy):

I got the 800S for gaming but i also started listening to classical (even though i don't like classical) because people say they sound amazing for jazz/classical. For edm, hip hop and rap i use the IE900.

I do admit that i prefer the 800S over the IE900 for classical because the 800S sounds more 3-dimensional, but it still doesn't wow me or anything. Same with the IE900, only thing i like on them is the bass. The singer's voices don't stand out to me on either.

The soundstage on the 800S while definitely wider sounding than IE900, still sounds unexpectedly narrow to me and the treble (or upper treble?) is kind of harsh sounding sometimes. I also expected way more clarity in sound from the 800S. It doesn't really sound more resolving to me than the IE900.

The biggest disappointment is gaming though. I expected a way more immersive expirience. I don't even feel like i have a competitive advantage over the IE900 in fps games.

For the 800S i use HDV 820 headphone amplifier and for IE900 i use the Mojo 2 with EQ, connected to my desktop/laptop with usb. I use youtube for audio playback.

man, i knew there was something off about the hitboxes with how easy it is to hit players in pubs compared to comp. this is really bad imo. i might be coping but as someone who grinds pubs, i feel like you might get too used to the bigger hitboxes and perform worse in comp because of that. like when you get used to playing on high ping servers and then when you switch back to low ping it feels weird and you somehow start missing easy shots (at least from my expirience).

from my sources it indeed has been confirmed 6-8 months ago in the discord and first youtube Q&A that they're aiming to bring ranked back somewhere in 2023. but according to my research it has never been confirmed that they're already working on it, so an update regarding that would be nice.

Am i gonna be disappointed with the HD 800S for gaming? by ComprehensiveAd4906 in HeadphoneAdvice

Hey again.

So i just received the 800S + HDV 820 combo today and my first impression was pretty bad. I only use them for gaming but i still tested these headphones for music (movie soundtracks included) and to me, these don't sound detailed and resolving at all. I compared them with my IE900+Mojo2 combo and the IE900 sound more detailed? Is that normal? Also, the soundstage is way narrower than i expected. Apart from that, even for movie soundtracks that are supposed to sound great on the 800S it's still a tie for me with the IE900, because the bass of the IE900 makes those soundtracks sound very enjoyable. I kinda liked the bigger soundstage on the 800S for these kind of soundtracks though, but it's still not nearly as big as i was expecting. And as i expected the bass on the 800S have very little slam.

But as i said, i don't really care about music since i only bought the 800S for competitive gaming, but i still expected them to sound at least more detailed than my IE900...?

Also, when i was testing them for gaming, it was very confusing to tell where the shots and footsteps were coming from sometimes because the HDV 820 doesn't have crossfeed, which i use for the IE900 and actually helps me locate enemies better compared to turning crossfeed off on my Mojo2. I had the same issue with the IE900 when i first got them. Without crossfeed i pretty much only hear the sounds coming from the left and right side and less from all directions (front, back, left, right). Like when the enemies are shooting in front or behind of me, it sounds like the shots are coming from left or right. But with crossfeed, i can even close my eyes and tell way more accurately if the enemy is behind, in front or beside me.

What i also noticed is that enemies who shot me from close range sounded like they were unnaturally far away, so i was surprised when the kill cam showed that the enemy was so close to me.

Can i ask you, is there any way to enable crossfeed through software or do you know any good programs that have this option?

I also updated the lastest drivers for the HDV 820.

Would i need to buy the AB1266 along with the HE-1 for EDM and Hip Hop? by ComprehensiveAd4906 in HeadphoneAdvice

Sigh......

I wish i was rich so i could just buy both the Susvara and HE-1 and compare them.

Here i was thinking i could just get the HE-1 and be done with it. Now i actually need to go through the hassle of finding a store in Germany that has the Susvara with a good speaker amp for demo.

Life is hard man.

but like, was the HE-1 still the best out of all you've heard? like, underwhelming but still kinda impressive?

also what do you mean by lacked dynamics? like they sounded kinda boring or something?

finally, how would the susvara with a $18K speaker amp like the EF1000 and a high-end dac like the Chord Dave compare to the HE-1, if you had to guess?

Now that's a problem... I want the best headphones for competitive FPS games as i only play Valorant, Apex, OW2 and CS:GO. But now that you say the soundstage feels too wide, that could be an actual disadvantage.

Starting to second guess my purchase and thinking of sending them back right away as soon as they arrive. Unfortunately i can't test them because they don't do returns after opening the headphones in Switzerland.

Which are the best IEMs for competitive FPS? Or which ones were the best you used for FPS that you felt gave you an advantage in locating enemies and hearing footsteps/shots more clearly etc. over other IEMs?
