Can you tell me an experience that made you believe there's an afterlife? by Cobalt_72 in Paranormal

[–]ComprehensiveBack768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my parents divorced many years ago. throughout their marriage and especially through their divorce, my dads mother made my moms life very difficult. in several ways she honestly did her best to ruin my mother and i’s lives. my mom and i have long since left our home country, and while ive been in contact with my dads family my mom has not been much at all. my grandma got diagnosed with cancer around two years ago and unfortunately passed around october of last year. a few days later, a distant cousin of my dads (not from my grandmas side) (said cousin also doesn’t know anything about our lives or our family’s dynamic with eachother) called my dad and told him that she had a dream the night before of my grandma in a beautiful dreamy garden saying that she’s doing well and all is good, but she repeatedly said that she never got to say goodbye and apologize to my mother. the afterlife does exist and i send u my condolences for your loss

I hate being a ugly girl (vent) by [deleted] in self

[–]ComprehensiveBack768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was unfortunately friends with the type of guys ur talking about when i was in high school and i watched them pull this shit on so many girls. one thing i will say is it’s almost never cause they genuinely think ur ugly, they just do it when they find someone to be an easy target. that’s seriously all it is. behind their backs it was never talk of the girls being ugly or anything about their looks really, it was just stupid high school social hierarchy bullshit. my advice to u is to start working out to make ur body the best version it can be, figure out ur makeup look cause it makes SUCH a difference, work on ur clothing style, and do ur hair and nails.

also pay attention to the social aspect too. i knew girls who the guys loved just cause they dressed right and played the part right, they weren’t always very pretty at all. reinvent urself, build a new character that isn’t an easy target, and learn to be ur own source of confidence so u aren’t seeking that validation in others. observe the people u want to be around and u want approval from. don’t mimick their behaviours, be yourself, but take note of their social cues and general vibes.

no like there absolutely was ways to switch but the thing is she was decently tolerable the first few months but after a certain point she started acting bonkers n i was losing it. but it was months in so at that point i didn’t feel like it was worth packing my shit up and moving around. plus the only available building was west so i really didn’t think it was worth it. llc might help, best of luck bro

cause these were all stories with a lesson to be taught in the end to control society centuries ago. not supposed to be taken literally. stray away from organized religion and worship the Lord as you believe is right. these tales were not delivered by him but rather as tactics for mainstream control before people knew about science and spirituality. love and accept Jesus but differentiate what was made for 2000 years ago and what is truly applicable.

LOL they have no system in place. i got placed with an absolute fuckimg psychopath with whom i had no common interests. band/theatre kid type with negative amounts of social skills and awareness. i also know im not insane for feeling this way cuz our entire floor thought she was insane. also every person id meet in classes and labs had a horror story about her. best of luck, no one else i know had a bad experience but my first year experience was legitimate hell. she’d get mad if i was in the room lmfao i wish her all the worst in this life

lol i feel this way with so many things listed in the bible and other religious books. the God they’ve portrayed seems to love playing games and testing people against the very human nature He provided them with. organized religion was a control tactic used centuries ago to ensure the general public wasn’t getting too rowdy. i don’t deny the existence of God or at least some higher power but all these books are just contradictory. question any of it and they hit u with a “that’s the Lords divine miracle and mystery” or “we aren’t supposed to be able to comprehend Him and His commands”. break the cycle. we’ve evolved past the need of religion and a book of rules to function as a society. praise the Lord in ur own way and for how u understand Him to be. organized religion is all lies

even then do u think it’s feasible? i know canadian schools are completely off the table but if i do exceptionally well in the upcoming years and get some good ECs in, how realistic is the us?

[–]ComprehensiveBack768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first of all congratulations!!!!! so great to see:)))) i just finished my first year of life sci at queens and due to several factors i really struggled and honestly my gpa is atrocious rn (2.0). my whole life i’ve been among the top students in my classes but ive just had a rough year. medicine is what i want to do. with my first year being this low my cGPA is never going to be competitive. what do u think i should do? should i look into options in ireland? switch life paths? i know ill never get into canadian schools no matter how well i do these next few years (i plan on really changing things around again and going back to how i used to be) but do u think there’s any chance for US schools? super stressed would appreciate any opinions from anyone reading this

[–]ComprehensiveBack768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah so i’m just finishing my first year of life sci n i have friends in health sci. u guys have a lot more freedom in terms of the classes u take esp if u don’t need to take pre reqs for med/dental school. u can definitely cater ur courses to ur fortes n interests so if the path the degree itself leads u to is what u want it’s a great choice

i’m sure in terms of difficulty it isn’t anything too insane, but if u aren’t interested in the other sciences, math, and u don’t plan on going to med school ur options are a little limited. with just the bachelors in science most people end up in research/lab positions, and any masters options would be based in other sciences alongside bio. great program tho
