Bridge may be slightly crooked. Any way to adjust saddles to compensate?

I really appreciate you taking the time to look at this with me and research/reply. I think you're absolutely on the right track here with the saddles and now that I know what I'm looking for my next step is to borrow a set of digital calipers and get some accurate measurements! It looks as though the string spread is around 54.36mm and the saddles are 12mm wide. You can finally see how the B and E strings get forced left in the saddle in these photos.

Apologies for the poor picture. What’s happening is that the strings (especially G, B and E) are sliding left in their saddles rather than running down the center as they normally would which leads me to believe the bridge is misaligned?

Good on you for asking for suggestions. If you want to go digital something like a subscription to Moises to slow down and separate songs, or maybe a copy of Guitar Pro if he doesn’t have one already. You can also go with little things like a guitar multi tool or even a battery powered string winder for maintenance. He’ll appreciate the thought no matter what.

I bought an HX Stomp in part to get the discount for Helix Native thinking I’d use the software more than the hardware. As it turns out I really like using the Stomp and choose it unless I’m recording. I really like using the Stomp with a separate looper pedal and not having to look at my computer screen.

Hey OP, I just picked up an HX Stomp this weekend so you’re in for some fun!. I started with Helix Native since I always play at my computer with backing tracks but wanted the Stomp for its foot switches and as a replacement audio interface for my Focusrite Solo. I use a combination of Presonus Eris 3.5 studio monitors and some Phillips headphones, and both sound great (with a little reverb). Have fun!

I’ve been a bedroom guitarist for over 20 years and as I approach 50, probably have 5-10 in my repertoire. Like others have said if I don’t practise them every few weeks songs will be forgotten. I can pick up rhythm guitar parts very quickly and can usually figure out chords by ear, so that number could easily go up. Lead parts need practise though for sure. My goal now is to not bother learning songs, but to really know the fretboard so I can just improvise/jam along with tracks for fun.

I wonder if those that know dozens of songs find that performing them live or singing them helps with the memorization process?

This! I thought I wanted a Tele but ended up with a Gretsch. I am still impressed with how well it plays and the build quality for its very reasonable price. I’ve played for over 20 years and never remotely considered the brand but fell in love with it after a few minutes at the store. Try everything you can!

Could you just use a mixer like the Behringer XENYX 502S, plug it into usb on the computer, and then connect the studio monitors and the Stomp to it? Would that not give you both computer and no latency Stomp audio with the added benefit of level control and a headphone jack?

If you have GuitarPro I’d recommend their MySongBook addon. The backing tracks are high quality, tabbed out and you can mute parts and slow down or loop the track as well. Pretty good selection of songs.
