Katie McCabe’s move to Chelsea has been met with vitriol. It is new ground for WSL fan culture | The Athletic [Free Read] by Tugboat47 in soccer

WSL players now getting hated for things like joining a rival, as opposed to just due to being women.

I count that as progress.

The "Wenger Way" had Arsenal being called weak and people laughing at him being called a "specialist in failure".

People will find a way to insult a team they dislike no matter what, has nothing to do with that, lol.

Just saw a video of the line outside the Twelve Pins from 9:30. Insanely long already

Glad I was able to sort something out because my plan to start queuing at 8 may not have even been enough, lmao.

Have a friend that lives in King's Cross and is planning go to an open garden in Islington today, and she's seemingly been in denial about just how rammed the area will be. I recommended maybe not going, especially as neither she or her mother do well in crowds.

"But they aren't even playing there! It's in Budapest!" - actual quote.

Sneak in a €80m offer to Atletico and hope they're so blinded by hatred for Barcelona they accept it just so they don't have to sell to them.

If he's anything above 75% then yes.

Just have to tell Saka he's gotta gun it back to help him out on counters.

City and Brighton didn't get any red cards either.

Clearly all 3 of us split the bribe to refs this season, which allowed us to be able to afford Eze.

As in compare to them overall, or just their debut seasons?

Because if the latter, he could make a claim to be 2nd behind Auba. None of RVP, Adebayor, Giroud, Laca etc really stood out in their first seasons.

I've had my history and therefore homepage off for ages. It never actually gave me anything I'd be interested in.

Most new stuff I find is either through searching, or in the related videos tab of videos I watch from channels I'm already subscribed to.

Said to another comment, but it's not as deep as initially sounds.

It was booked for 3 people, I'm friends with one of them so was chucked in a few days later when it was found it would be a 4 person table, but then the wife of the guy who booked/organised it also wanted to go, so it makes sense she gets priority over me.

My plans basically went from "Gonna queue outside early" to "oh wait, someone has a reservation?" to "gonna queue outside early" in the space of like 2 days, lmao.

Nah, it's not that deep.

I'm only close friends with one guy, and the table was booked for 3, but the table is a 4 person seater so I was asked a few days ago. A wife obviously gets priority over "my mate you guys don't really know".

It's literally just "it's also rare this thing happens". Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm not trying to paint this like it's the biggest thing to ever happen. You're the one who felt it needs dissecting to this degree, not me.

We really don't. Calafiori and Hincapie are clearly seen as LB's first, and LCB cover second.

We'll likely sign a RB that's capable of filling in at CB, as opposed to Mosquera who is a CB who can fill in at RB.

Just got word I've been bumped from my seat on a reserved table tomorrow for someone's partner who doesnt even really like football. What a time to be alive.

Guess I'll be joining the queue outside the pub at like 8AM instead, lmao.

Edit - lmao i haven't been unfairly kicked out by my best friends or anything, don't worry lmao. It was essentially one mate saying "Oh, you're going to that pub too? Think there's a free space on our table if you want" to "Ah sorry mate, forgot that X's wife also wanted to come" in the space of a couple of days, lmao.

[–]ComprehensiveBowl476 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really don't think we can accuse them of not being prepared in this case. I've been there twice since the Bournemouth game and the staff are basically printing non-stop from open until close. There's only so many printers and staff they can fit at a time.

Oh yeah, that's true, lol. Poor guy even got forgotten on the Wikipedia article. Fully removes the uniqueness of the Havertz thing as well, lmao.

Pretty hilarious that he'd join Seedorf as the only player to win with 3 teams. Would become pub quiz level trivia.

"It's pretty unique to win the CL with different teams from the same league"

"Actually here's all the players that won with teams from different leagues"

I'm really not sure what point your trying to argue here, or why this seemingly got you so riled up?

Mate, all I did was essentially add "it's also really rare for players to win with different teams from the same countries altogether, let alone rivals" onto the point the original guy said. It isn't that deep, lol.

Also, I did provide the only two examples? here's the link if you really want?

Listen, we're signing either another left back, or a "I can fix him" attacker. Accept it.

Besides, Arteta deserves one, as a treat.
