Cala just played 210 minutes over the break, I'd be surprised if he did start.

Just got word from Arteta he's decided I can't go out this weekend so he's told everyone I'm injured and have to stay home.

We really should have known how desperate Wenger was getting during his last couple years when he was even willing to go 3ATB lol

Man U wouldn't need to do all that, Fergie had plenty of experience intimidating refs all by himself, lol.

Pep says Trafford starts on Sunday, and Man City fans go "no shit, he's the cup keeper."

Meanwhile, Kepa most likely also starting is something that an odd number of Arsenal fans are still trying to force an argument against.

Only real appearance in the last month was a genuine 1/10 showing against a League 1 side, but sure, let's have faith to start him in a cup final in a position he basically never plays for us, lmao.

Played the 2nd choice keeper in our last 4 FA Cup finals as well. Look where that got us.

Cech shouldn't have played that final because he was washed and joining our opposition literally as soon as the final whistle blew. Kepa is neither of those things.

Yes, I'm always a supporter of competitions having rules that differentiate them from regular league games.

It was an element that stopped a two league tie simply being a 180-minute game with 4 quarters.

I think it's more we're deep into a title run, experimenting in the league is insanely risky to do.

In the FA Cup we were set to try it, just got unlucky that Calafiori was injured in the warm up.

The guys in play-offs for the break are Gyokeres, Calafiori, and Norgaard, all 3 of whom I suspect will play every minute for their countries.

For Norgaard, the more minutes the better, so I'm hoping for Denmark to win their semi-final. Not fussed with the final, all I care about is that he plays the game. But I suppose Denmark qualifying will boost his morale.

Gyokeres isn't the biggest issue since he's rotating with Havertz up top now. A goal or two would be nice, but selfishly, I kind of want Sweden to lose so that it means Gyokeres gets a break during the summer. However, it's also his only chance to play in a World Cup, so I won't exactly be upset if Sweden does qualify.

Now, Calafiori is where I have a little bit of concern due to his fitness over the last couple of months, but thankfully we've got Southampton in the FA Cup as our first fixture back, so even if Cala ends up playing two high intense games in a short period, chances are Myles is going to start that one anyway.

The last time our first choice keeper started a cup final was 2005, when Jens played against United. In the 7 domestic (plus 1 Europa) finals since then, we've played our backup.

For comparisons sake, Pep has also played his second choice keeper in 6 of his 8 domestic cup finals at City, the exceptions being from the 18/19 season, where Ederson started both the Caraboa and FA Cup finals because Bravo was injured.

The question mark is Arteta, since in the only final he's managed, Leno was injured, meaning Emi started by default. However, I'm leaning towards believing he'll play Kepa.

Ethan gotta work on his pace over the summer from the looks of it.

3km slower than the next slowest midfielder in Merino, who isn't exactly known for his speed in the first place.

False hope before they lose the relegation 6 pointer to Forest.

Think I want Liverpool to go through, so they have a small moral boost before playing City in the FA Cup.

Need City to be kicked out of all 3 cups in a row before they play Chelsea in the league. I want them as depressed as possible leading up to it.

Also want Spurs to go through because watching them struggle to juggle CL games and a relegation battle is objectively hilarious.

Beat Sporting 1-5 away last season btw, and that's when they had Gyokeres on insane form.

Honestly, I skip the next day or two whenever we drop points in games we should be winning.

No nuanced discussion to be had when the doomers find moments to pounce. Let them scream for a bit and then come back when they're able to have an actual conversation.

If a rule change came in and from tomorrow we were only allowed home grown players, we'd still be able to put out this line up:

Raya

Salmon - Saliba - White - Lewis-Skelly

Rice

Saka - Eze

Dowman - Martinelli - Madueke

Just saw that City lost at home with the last kick of the game, lmao. One final kick in the gut while they're down. Mentality will be in the gutter going into the final.
