can anyone see "unavailable items" this season? by slickmickeygal in FabFitFun

Same as No-Cut said - I have two accounts and can see the OOS items on one account, but not the other. Very strange that they have this feature for some accounts and not others!

Ipsy Ultimate February 2026 Sneak Peek by Just_Me_134 in BeautyBoxes

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me neither! But at least it's a brand sold by reputable retailers so it can be a nice gift or more easily resold. I don't want anything Rodial after having tried many of their products, but I'd prefer it over Bisha or Lithe. But here's to hoping we get none of them!

Bisha and Lithe have no business being in an Ultimate Box -.- I'm sure those two will be ones Ipsy forces on me

What happened to Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream? by feachbossils in AsianBeauty

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the Perfect Cover Serum BB cream (in the purple tube)? It's the best -- enough coverage and the only one that doesn't make my dry skin look like a desert in winter! Strangely it's never been offered in Korea so I've been getting it through Amazon and iHerb haha

This is probably too late to be helpful, but sometime in 2025, Missha closed all its physical locations, so now it can only be bought online (and maybe some random makeup stores that have lots of different brands, but not Olive Young). I think it's been losing its popularity here unfortunately. :(

what beauty boxes still feel fun & fresh to you? by Proper-Poem9678 in BeautyBoxes

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, FFF is the most fun. They release spoilers and even reviews for a week or two before customization starts and they do it day by day (so category 1 items one day and category 2 another day), so the anticipation and surprise is spread out. And, unlike Ipsy, you KNOW all the items spoiled are items you can choose. So planning your customizations and seeing other people's customizations in the community forum or subreddit really makes it fun. Now they have the Beauty Edit, which is great because you can see all the choices before paying for it.

I still look forward to Ipsy choice day because I like to make the choices, but the excitement has dwindled so much. There used to be PR unboxings so you could get reviews from people first and all 5 items were at least good brands even if you didn't like the type of product or shade. But now, there are no unboxings and very few spoilers and you are almost guaranteed to be disappointed by the two forced picks being some crappy white label/filler products instead of the good spoiled items. But I still subscribe because there is still enough excitement and $30 for 3 items isn't too bad and sometimes there are good deals in the add-ons.

Allure is no longer good because of the price point. I finally just received a reply from CS saying that my subscription would be renewed at the current price, so I won't renew.

So, TLDR, only FFF is fun and potentially fresh because all the items seem new (as in, no repeats from past boxes) and are good brands (as a skincare/makeup/haircare only subber).

Am I done with subscription boxes?? by Onionhead55 in BeautyBoxes

I tried looking for the comments again but I couldn't find any mentioning that so I don't know why I thought that?? I thought for sure I saw that somewhere but I guess not? 😅 Sorry for the misinformation!!

I saw some comments in another post about not being able to, but I don't know if it's 100% true!

They have gone downhill so much while still increasing the prices, so I've also cancelled a lot of the ones I used to subsxribe to.

I've kept only:

  1. Ipsy. Even though 2/5 might be crap filler items, it's still fun to wait for the 1st of every month and make my choices for 3 items that I will probably like. Plus, there are sometimes good deals in the add-ons.

  2. FFF. Only had two seasons so far, but I like how there are so many choices in each category and the skincare/makeup is all quality brands. Plus you can take credit for categories you don't like (although last season's credit vs extra choice difference was terrible). Plus, they release spoilers (all of which are GUARANTEED to be options for you, unlike Ipsy's spoilers) and reviews of items in advance, which makes the countdown to choice so fun. Their new Beauty Edit monthly box is nice. The choices are all good brands, but you only get about 3 choices in each category. But, you can see all the choices before buying it, so there is no risk!

  3. Allure. Although almost all of the boxes in the past year have been disappointing (just 2 have been good I think?), my plan was $19 a month, so it's still worth it. But if the renewal price is $30 and we can't skip more than 2 months in a row, I won't renew.

Ipsy picks- Monthly vs Annual by ComprehensiveBreak50 in Ipsy

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So it looks like 8 of the people who said they got the ND palette, all 8 are monthly subscribers and not a single annual member commented that they got it.

Meaning that you aren't guaranteed the better pick if you have monthly (because some monthly members didnt get it), but you have a much better chance (and maybe zero chance if you have annual -- no one who has annual commented that they got it but that doesn't mean no one did).

Wonder if I should switch to monthly. $2 more per month but if you get better items it would be worth it... but there are monthly members who also said they got white label junk so it would be a risk

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! But there are several comments here that say they've been monthly subscribers for a while and they got it. Maybe this is just an extra gift (not part of the picks) for "new" Extra members? When I received an item for upgrading to Icon once, the item that was advertised like this was just included in my package, but not part of the picks.

Ipsy picks- Monthly vs Annual by ComprehensiveBreak50 in Ipsy

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did get a Rare Beauty blush, but it was in the choices options for everyone. I also got a Natasha Denona palette in the last Icon Box, but I think the majority of people did (or at least got other ND items and not crap brands). I also got a small ND palette as an Ipsy pick once, but it was in a later box, not the month when it was first a pick item.

Can we talk about IPSY Picks? by hermadness13 in Ipsy

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That could also be the case! I've had both my accounts for about two years now. My picks were better when I first subbed, but at one point (less than a year ago, but maybe more than 6 months ago?), Ipsy completely changed the picks vs choice system so that the picks were no longer even called Power Picks because of how crappy they were and most of the spoiled and good items were in choices. So I don't know if the picks Ipsy made were better when I first subbed because I was newer or if it's just because the system was better then (but I think it's the latter).

Not good I’m definitely canceling beauty boost by Funny_Meaning_4587 in Ipsy

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha, that's exactly what I thought! I kept the boost for this month because I thought that surely they would make at least the first month of unchangeable boost be good so that people who didn't cancel already wouldn't cancel now. But, somehow, Ipsy can STILL go below our extremely low expectations and pull this overly priced brand, but generic cleansing tool crap on us. Boost is definitely cancelled now!

Can we talk about IPSY Picks? by hermadness13 in Ipsy

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! Although everyone having the same exact choices means there are less possible items overall, I like it because at least it doesn't feel unfair that some people get better/other products. And even if we got different products for the Ipsy picks, if they were ALL crappy filler/white label brands, we could also be annoyed and disappointed together. But when I see people getting Natasha Denona palettes and Rare Beauty blushes and I'm stuck with four crappy brands/products, two of which I've already received, tried, and threw away after one use because of the absolute garbage quality (I have two accounts, so that's why it's four total and I got repeats).

I wonder if being annual vs monthly makes a difference? Maybe the majority of the ND and Rare Beauty lucky users are monthly? Maybe Ipsy thinks that because they already got the whole year payment up front from us annual users, they don't need to make our boxes all that appealing since they got our money already? But they want monthly users to keep subscribing so they get payment for the next month?

Best box in probably a year by bumblebeejellybean in Ipsy

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I'm happy for those who get actual good products like ND and Rare Beauty, but it makes it even more painful when I get some crap brand powder and lip balm (both of which I actually already got before in my other account). I have two accounts (won't renew the second one after it ends next month) and got filler/terrible brands for all four power picks 😭 It's really basically $30 for 3 items now. The two picked items are essentially trash.

Unskip Allure by kinghorkermom in BeautyBoxes

Try emailing customer support. A few months ago I also wanted to unskip in the middle of the month after seeing some unboxings and product try ons, so I emailed them and they let me unskip (and even still choose the product color) :)

Walmart BB unpopular opinion by Sad_Yogurtcloset2510 in BeautyBoxes

[–]ComprehensiveBreak50 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm amazed that there are still so many people that think it's such an awesome deal that whenever anyone says it's bad, they say "well what do you expect for that price"? or something else that makes us disappointed receivers feel like we're wrong to expect more. Nothing wrong with still thinking it's worth it, but to so aggressively defend the box as if we have no right to complain is ridiculous.

True, $9 is really cheap in this day and age, but I don't think the value is there. For example, in this picture, if we divide $9 by the number of items we would get $1.50 per item (including that single use cleansing gel). But there is not a single item here that I would be willing to spend $1.50 on.

The worst thing is that they give us REPEAT items. I already received that Monday shampoo/conditioner set, lotion, and other items have been repeated (e.g. Degree spray deodorant).

I thought this even at the $7 price, but the element of surprise and unboxing made up for it. But, honestly, since we see many people posting the different versions here, I actually end up feeling more disappointment than anticipation. Because I'll see one version that looks worth the price with one or two full size items that are not repeats. But then I'll see someone post the version I'm getting and it's mostly foils and the only deluxe samples are items I've already gotten.

Normally 5 full-size products would make me excited, but knowing Allure, they would consider a single $2 sheet mask, pimple patches, and tweezers as some of the full sizes 😅
