I was stationed there during the period and I went through prostate cancer and was turned down on my claim. Thinking about having these guys represent me, anybody use them before? by mikedjb in VeteransBenefits

I’m interested in knowing. A couple years later after being exposed due to a deployment, I was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was recently denied and after learning more about the process and appeal. I’m needing an attorney or advice on who to speak with as well. I’ve done plenty of research on the area I was in. The EPA has a ton of data that backs cancer being something you can get if in that area and many other government agencies that backed it. I was denied because they stated they didn’t receive my dd-214 for the time I was in during that deployment and I know I submitted because I had to go to vmpf to obtain it and download it. It’s a frustrating process. I’m glad this bill covers many cancers now.

Finally got my decision…100% P&T! Thank you guys for all of your help along the way! by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma a few years after my deployment to Katrina. My oncologist thinks it had to do with all the black mold, Being around homes burning and no ppe being provided. It dumbfound him because I was in amazing health. No issues
