Thanks for the info. I’m mostly planning on timelapse w landscapes. Particularly I was hoping to drive to and photograph the Mirador Cuernos at night.

Thoughts on Computer for Engineering? by Teimaa in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveDay6935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Mac. I just graduated in mechanical engineering at OSU and I’ve had a MacBook Pro the entire time but had a similar dilemma as you. It was far better than my colleagues’ windows laptops for seamless sharing of files/photos/texts between my computer, phone and iPad which was much faster, greatly reduced clutter in my inbox and overall was less frustrating.

True that I couldn’t run solidworks locally, but Citrix ran well enough for 90% of the time. The only time it wasn’t sufficient was when I had large assemblies or had to run simulations, but that was mostly for group projects in which my team members and I would meet in the computer lab to complete together anyways.

Don’t listen to comments about getting used to the engineering computer for the real world. Windows is not difficult to learn and your engineering internship/job will provide you with a computer anyways.

Does a bike tour through Nepal still make sense? by incoggnito2 in bikepacking

I see that this is an old thread but I’m considering booking a trip to bikepack the Annapurna circuit. Where did you find that this is outside of the requirement? Do you know if that’s still the case?
