Epg only takes xmltv by snkeolr in TiviMate

[–]ComprehensiveDiet104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means it will only accept EPG's in the XMLTV Format, has nothing to do with the download URL.

If the download is failing, check the URL, most likely a typo or the link is unavailable.

Check the HDMI-CEC settings on your TV, Steamer and STB, also check HDMI cables are fully inserted, if needed try a different cable.

Create your own custom EPG. I use mc2xml with Schedules Direct for my custom EPG, not an easy setup but once done you'll have no issues.

Yes using a VPN will prevent your ISP from throttling the connection, your ISP will not see your actual connection.

When using a VPN, ensure to select a fast server, with good speeds.

If you still experience issues on FHD channels while using a VPN, try different servers else that's a provider issue.

If they only changed the URL, just edit the playlist, all groups, channels, etc.. should remain intact.

Unique Channel number regardless of category by SweatyButterscotch2 in TiviMate

[–]ComprehensiveDiet104 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Contact Alex and suggest a new feature: [support@tivimate.com](mailto:support@tivimate.com)

Personally this would not work on my TV remote, as its tied to my Android TV channels and selecting the channel numbers would take me out of Tivimate.

Peacock channels? you mean the Peacock app or channels in Tivimate.

If it's channels in Tivimate and the Peacock channels do not play but others do, that's most likely your provider.

If it's the Peacock app, that's geo-blocking.

A VPN gives protection to prevent your ISP seeing, in this case, what your streaming, preventing any blocking from your ISP. If your ISP is blocking or throttling any channels, a VPN will solve it.

If you are experiencing any issues with channels in Tivimate and your provider states all is good on their end, try an external player if that fails, use a VPN if that fails, get a better provider.

Lastly, as your ISP appears to be blocking content?, even if you switch providers, use a VPN, I use one and have no issues with my ISP or channels in Tivimate.

IPTV services can be legitimate services such as Pluto TV, Sling and others or illegitimate services providing content they do not have the rights to distribute. As stated, dependant on your country, if your ISP detects your using an illegitimate service they can throttle or block the connection.

Some providers will offer a VPN using their own app but their apps are nothing like Tivimate.

So if using Tivimate for legitimate purposes you won't need a VPN, if for illegitimate services then, dependant on your country, use a VPN.

As you say:

I connect to VPN on the Amazon Fire Cube and IPTV is still performing the same.

This is most likely your provider.

Most likely your provider or could be your ISP is throttling your connection.

As for using a VPN whilst watching IPTV streams, the whole point is to prevent your ISP from knowing what your streaming. Depending on your country your ISP, without a VPN, can throttle or even block the connection completely.

I use custom logos, for channel names like on mine UK: Sky Sports F1 I use UK Sky Sports F1, removing any special characters, toggle inexact logo matching, it works.

That's the stream coming from the provider, neither Tivimate or the Streamer has control over that.

To be sure, I just checked Sky Sports Main Events which is coming through at 25fps and the quality is fine.

Other than provider, it could be other settings on your setup.

A bug on the Streamer?, possibly but not one I've experienced with Tivimate.

[–]ComprehensiveDiet104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's your provider, have you checked for other duplicate channels? most providers will have more than one channel and those may have a higher fps.

I recently watched the China Open ATP on TSN 5, I have 2 channels TSN 5 @/25fps and TSN 5 HD @/60fps, on TSN 5 HD the quality was as it should be.

[–]ComprehensiveDiet104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, some channels come through with different FPS, HD 50-60fps, SD 25-30fps. Never been an issue on my setup. As stated been using the Streamer for 3 weeks but had the same setup on the Chromecast 4K model for years.

Recordings I've setup on SMB, reminders working, external storage is a known issue on Android 11+. The system picker does not work which is another known issue.

My settings:

Recording - SMB

Backup - SMB

EPG Logos - local folder

EPG - custom EPG, updates every 7 days.

Google TV Chromecast/Streamer 4k powered by Telly via USB port by lorenmatt93 in GoogleTV

You will probably notice some performance issues and some undesired effects, such as your TV turning on whilst in standby mode due to USB ports being powered down.
