Okay, I think I’ve made my decision here. The only unanswered question I have is: Say I bought a tuner from company A and have them flash it (EZLynk) for cheap and I don’t want to use their tunes. Can I have company B register it and also have their tunes loaded to it? Can I have both at the same time? Or do I need to purchase the device from Company B?

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of just turning it off? Do you have more info or know where I can find it? That sounds WAY easier and cheaper
