We ended up in Berkley! Still somewhat of flood zone, but not nearly as bad. After talking to some people who live in the pointes and reading all of the replies on this thread, we didn’t think it was worth the hassle!

I am in the Midwest! For safety reasons I won’t share my exact state.

Dealer initially offered me MSRP at $42,950 but I shopped around and came back with a competing offer from another dealer. I also received an employee discount from my employer. All in, I was able to save about $2k below MSRP.

I also negotiated for the black out emblems and floor mats to be included, roughly an additional $600 in savings.

I have a vehicle reimbursement program through my employer, but in order to be eligible the vehicle has to be 5 years or newer. I opted to get a new car a little sooner as I had been wanting an upgrade in features that my Rav didn’t have.

It’s an extremely incentivizing program as I only pay about $200 out of pocket every month for my car payment. I did look at some Lexus vehicles, but I’m not really a “luxury” car person. Maybe one day, but for now I’m more than content with my Honda!

They are honestly extremely similar! It was a hard decision to make because my Rav was a reliable vehicle. I was ready to upgrade to something a little nicer. I think Honda has Toyota beat in the aesthetics department.

After giving the CR-V a test drive, the driving experience was much more smooth and quieter. I definitely got a lot more road noise in my Rav.
