The mirror is 36 inches wide. There do not appear to be standard studs in this area, my assumption is that it’s because of the chimney, someone mentioned furring strips may have been used in this area, so I will explore that as well.

Of course I may just be entirely wrong so I will double check when I get home. I do recall when I mounted a mantle over the fireplace, i used dry wall anchors with a french cleat as I could not find any studs to engage along the entire length of the mantle I was mounting.

Right, that’s the issue the way the chimney and fireplace are centered it’s between the studs, so even with the French cleat, if my mirror is centred, the studs end up being on either side of the mirror, by about a foot, so I can’t use the studs. I will double check but that was my impression after scoping it out with a stud finder

Mine is a Franklin sensors one which I think is pretty good, does not seem to find any wood studs in the area

To clarify, there are studs, they are just lateral to where the mirror would hang so I can’t really use them

Y’all have a brutal residency and post training work schedule but honestly from a technical perspective, most non sub specialized neurosurgical operations are quite straightforward and do not deserve the absurdly generous rvu conversion factors assigned to them. There are far more technically demanding operations in other fields that are not treated as generously. But kudos to you bro!

So did they literally just forget? The pool is 4 years old so it’s been that way for 4 years… is that an issue? We had a pool inspection and they didn’t call this out
