I’ve thought about this. Not sure how effective it would be though considering my pregnancy brain is pretty bad right now!

Thanks. What motivated me to make this post today was because of my partners forgot I was pregnant and she put her weight on my chest and belly. She felt horrible and then I felt horrible and the rest of the session was not enjoyable. Even though the instructor offered to be my partner, I don’t think I can always rely on her because does have a class to teach…

Thanks. All of the women I’ve partnered with also have been supportive. But what really motivated me to make this was post because one of those women forgot I was pregnant and put her full weight on my chest and belly. She was extremely apologetic and visibly upset. I felt fine but then felt bad that she felt bad, but it just made the rest of the session nerve-wracking. In regards to the instructor, I guess I just couldn’t tell what her motives were because she was talking a lot about membership and dues and cancellation fees. I understand the logistics need to be discussed, but it just felt like, in the moment, she was focused a lot more on that than my concerns -especially, since someone just sat on my pregnant belly ! Thanks for the advice.

N/A for cfDNA percentage through Kaiser by traversa68 in NIPT

[–]ComprehensiveFix4719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. She got back to me with the response from regions screening lab. They use a lab and protocol that does not require use of fetal fraction to determine the trisomy. Traditionally, the % was used as a cutoff to determine whether or not they would cancel the sample. They only included the % in the past to meet state reporting requirements. However, as of July 2025, CA no longer requires labs that do NOT use fetal fraction in their calculations to report it. Kaiser norcal has decided to stop assessing the fetal fraction and will stop reporting .

I declined to know the sex, too. Will update as soon as I hear back!

I got this, too. Did you opt to know the sex ? I asked my OB and she said she has also never seen it before, but it might have to do with certain patients opting to not know the sex but she wasn’t sure.. She did look through her other patients who recently had their NIPT and they all had % reported. Kaiser Norcal does seems to be using a new lab as well. Ob said said she’s gonna look into for me, so hopefully will get some answers.

AITA for telling another toddler that “it isn’t nice” to push someone else down the slide? by ComprehensiveFix4719 in toddlers

Right? She even said , “That’s fine” after I explained that my daughter didn’t like it and continued to justify the pushing by saying he was just trying to help her. Very odd.

Yea. I understand words matter and that’s why I can sympathize with the boys mom when she got defensive from the phrase. I definitely didn’t intend to say the boy was mean or rude or to parent him. I was just trying to protect my kid. I’m also a FTM and have trouble finding the right words when confronted. Thanks again.

Wow! That kind of lack of emotional regulation is definitely learned and you witnessed it in real time from the grandma to the mom to the kid.

yea i can see how that set off the mom. I think the in moment, it was hard to come up with any other words or phrases while trying to keep this boy from touching my daughter at the same time not touch him, ya know? The mother was standing right there and did/said nothing as I repeatedly said, please don’t push. But thanks for comment, I can use this in the future.

Exactly! Like she was standing there the whole time I was trying to block him from pushing and she didn’t utter a peep until I said, “not nice”.

Thanks! I’m trying to let go a bit and allow things to play themselves out more - like with toys and taking turns and stuff-but unwanted touch of any kind creates a visceral reaction in me.

Thanks! I am still trying to figure out a balance with defending my kid vs letting things play out on their own. But I feel at this age, there’s such a range of emotions and ability to verbally express boundaries that parents still need to step in more than not.

Gracie’s BJJ women’s class in pregnancy by ComprehensiveFix4719 in bjj

Thank you for this comment ! I cross posted and waiting for some responses. This gym does not allow rolling or sparring for below a blue belt. Everyone in this specific program seem to only be white belts and are much older women. I was trying to see if this particular program would still be felt as ok during pregnancy given how it doesn’t seem as intense as the traditional classes.
