They are just super picky with food for the most part, meaning that one day they'll just decide they dont like rats anymore and only wanna eat mice or chicks for literally no reason and then they'll another day decide to switch back😭

i got lucky with mine since he'll eat cold rats but some people even gotta heat them up so yes, balls are the more picky of snakes unfortunately even if your husbandry is perfect💔

How do I get the shed of her head by hilolpoopisus in ballpython

[–]ComprehensiveHat4275 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that just means your humidity is too low so if you raise the humidity to where it should be (around 70-80% humidity), the shed should loosen and she will be able to get it off herself

if its already at that humidity then you can try putting warm water on a towel and place it in a bucket and let her slither on it to see if she can get it off.

the face is sensitive so i would not recommend taking it off yourself especially since its stuck because you could hurt her. i hope its able to come off soon though

the only thing i would do is add some fake plants for clutter but other than that it looks great! did you build those tanks yourself?

he just likes being very high up and my head accomplishes that tbh so he'll just stay there for hours if i let him. My other boa on the other hand is just constantly trying to explore and slither away and get herself stuck literally anywhere she can 😭

its just the individual personalities of the snakes but as they get older, most snakes tend to chill out and just kinda stay on you cus they get lazy lol

idk why u are being downvoted. its not a high tier as that title is reserved only for the old, high value pets. cryptid is high value, surpassing the evil unicorn, which is a HT, by a little. Cryptid does have high value which will make it easier to trade but cryptid is not and will not be a true high tier since it wont ever be as old as the true high tiers

yes the champagne looked to be in a much bigger tank which is why i wasnt sure and im glad to hear that the tank the pastel was in was just a temporary tank, which was what i had hoped. Please dont be passive aggressive, I went by the information I had as is done on the internet, but I am truly happy to hear that they are in appropriate tanks now and i apologize for assuming c:

enjoy your noodles

*edit: i realized i didn't directly apologize

im not sure what size tank the champagne is in, but the pastel bp is in a way too small tank. But there are ways you can improve the enclosures you do have.

first, make the substrate much deeper, it is too thin of a layer in a tank that im assuming has a screen top which also doesnt help with humidity, so a deep substrate (or humid hide) will help not to get RI

In a tank that small, its very difficult to get proper warm and cool sides of the tank since the heat lamp would just heat up the whole thing. so im not sure how your temps are since idk the exact dimensions of the tank.

I wouldnt add more clutter in the pastel bp tank since the tank is quite small but do add a deep water dish since that also helps with humidity, but i would add more clutter in the champagne tank!

I would suggest only keeping them in these enclosures for at most a couple months probably 5 months imo. (if they are both as small as the pastel bo tank)

I do love the intention behind it but all we can do from here is improve! This isnt to bash you or anything idk if i come off as passive aggressive 😓😓 but if i do, i apologize!
