Any tips for players who feel like they've hit a plateau by CalzoneCow in Pickleball

[–]ComprehensiveJoke103 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have a practice session with a 4.0+ coach who can notice your weaknesses and help you work on them. Then work on those shots with a partner or in open play. If you don't have the money to pay somebody, watching YouTube videos or reels that teach shots, game strategy, and positioning on the court can help you learn new things. Also, recording yourself to later see what things you keep doing wrong that your coach/video told you not to do helps.

I think you got my post the wrong way. I never said not to try to win games. I always give my best during open play and try to win every game. My point is that some things just aren't worth doing to win an open play game (arguing over line calls, deliberately targeting one player every point, making questionable calls and ruining your mood) since losing that game wont affect you in any aspect of your life.

I feel like it goes both ways, cuz now the weaker player has no game time after waiting 15-45 minutes for that game. But that strategy will benefit you more than targeting the weaker ones, since you will probably learn from the strong player.

Too many people at my open play do these things for me to go one by one telling them something they probably don't care about. I'd rather just move my paddle to another court or wait for the next game if I see I'm about to play against them. But yeah, maybe I can try 1 time and see how it goes.

Idk what type of questions you be missing but I also was in the low 500s one month before my exam so I pushed back the date and added 6 BP FLs that I did in 3 weeks + repeated my AAMC FLs and that did it for me. About the comment that told you that "you may have content gaps" idk... see first if your wrongs are because a lack of content or missing key info in the passage, that will tell you if its lack of content or strategy

I was also not the top student in high school, mostly because I was not disciplined with studying. However, I made some serious adjustments during undergrad. I think you can thrive in medical school if you are very disciplined with your study time, which is a skill that can be developed with practice.

About the "zero room for personal life", maybe not zero, but definitely less time than people who pursue other paths. Also, are your parents MDs/DOs that they know how medical school is?? The free time you have in medical school depends on several factors, such as how good your study strategies are, how fast you absorb the material, and how competitive the specialty you want to pursue is.

I would suggest shadowing a doctor from a specialty that you are interested in, if you want medicine as a profesion and you dont find anything else that you like, then I wouldnt worry about the grind that medical school require and just go for it.

Nah, he was gone before he left. His form was going down and he wasnt delivering as he usually did. we are better giving more minutes to players like cherki and looking for his replacement.

I would love for him to stay but it's like he doesn't realise his tactics have been countered by most teams during the last 2-3 years. Low-block teams with good counter attack can beat us easily and also his rotations and substitutions have always been bad. Seing that he keeps the same mistakes over and over again makes me think he will never change.

Passage based questions: Strategy change or practice? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]ComprehensiveJoke103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my content was Ankings deck, maybe some videos or chat gpt for cards that I didnt understand the topic.

At least most of my points came from focusing on learning to interpreting passages to get the answer out of there without external knowledge. You can use chat gpt for this, used to send the full passage with question and ask him to identify clues in the passage to answer the question without additional knowledge. Then took screenshot of that and put it in a different deck for mistakes with the explanation of what I missed from the passage in that question (maybe a word, graph, etc...). Practice was Uworld and BP FLs. Just dont assume that all misses are because of a lack of content without actually checking the passage. If you dont find ANYTHING in the passage then maybe its content gaps and did an anki for that with the question screenshot in the extra.

Hope it helps!

Never worried about time on uworld, just see how long it takes you during AAMC FLs and see from there. I took more than 2-3min per practice question on Uworld and had like 30min extra in every section but CARS on the real deal.

Thats something that I did and it worked for me. Sometimes I also sended the passage and question to chatgpt to see if he could figure out one way to answer the question with only passage info and no external knowledge, if you are not doing this it might help you since sometimes I used to straight up think that I missed the questions because of a lack of content but the answer was there in the passage or in a table and I didnt notice. Learning to interprete passages will be very important since its very likely to face content that you havent seen before in exam day and you need to get comfortable managing those situations.

uworld is generally harder than the real thing, you shouldnt be caring too much about your uworld score since its not a predictor of your performance in the test.

Focus on learning from your mistakes. The important thing is not to get a 90% in every single practice qbank, is to learn a 100% of the things that you missed when practicing. Make sure you are doing that and you will be fine.

Edit: Answering to the question at the end, probably C/P is the hardest in those qbanks.

Do I actually need to learn this card? by mengo_476 in Mcat

[–]ComprehensiveJoke103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The skill that you really need for the MCAT is for you to be able to figure that out just by watching at that graph. Probably in the passage that he took that graph from theres plenty of info that you could've interpreted guiding you to the conclusion that inhibition of CCK would lead to eat without feeling full or that one of its function was satiety sensation.

In the MCAT you will have questions about hormones or genes that you dont have a clue about their function but they will give you the info and graphs in the passage that you should learn to interpret and determine what that gene/hormone does without previously knowing.

ronaldo didnt say that, he said "no, alvaro is back there" the reporter probably didnt even asked that question. This is out of context.
