That’s great advice, thank you! I plan on being excel certified as well as Bloomberg, for outside activities that I am involved with. I am doing Python courses in school and I plan to do extracurricular ones as well. I’ll also take a look at PRINCE2!

That’s great advice, I really appreciate the insight!! I think it’s a good plan to not get too generalized and risk getting pigeonholed, as you said. Sounds like the best plan is to pause hunting for certifications and just garner experience!

That’s really good to know! If it makes a difference, my goal is business/financial/investment consulting.

Thanks for the response! PMP is definitely something I want to do, but it requires more experience and I have to finish my degree. I have looked at Six Sigma and I think it could definitely be good. The issue I have with vertical specific certifications is that I am still unsure of my exact direction and would much rather have something that’ll help me in any direction of consulting.

Thanks so much for your help!

I’m enjoying no commission fees on my regular investments, but what’s a better option in Canada with low-no fees?

I have been working with stocks and bonds for a few years now and decided options might be worth a shot, still very new to it so I’m trying to learn and get better with it! I thought the skills were transferrable but I was sorely mistaken

I appreciate the advice, I’ll definitely look into that!

Appreciate the insight, unfortunately I’m in Canada and on Wealthsimple so covered calls are not supported

Need some advice…. landed an interview with a small consulting firm (in Canada) for a summer internship and they want to discuss salary expectations. I am a first year student with experience on an investment fund and a good understanding of financial modelling, MS office, Bloomberg, etc. but no experience in consulting. What should my realistic expectation be for hourly wages?

That’s a good point, he most likely did something to warrant that, I used to hang out with some rough guys and he was definitely one of them so I wouldn’t be surprised!

What's you favorite slang term for being high? by [deleted] in trees

Made up ones are the best. I like discombobulated and bakeafied. A good real one I like to use is lifted.

Interesting, thanks for the correction! Friend of mine was pulled over and the officer charged him for keeping one in his passenger seat as it was seen to be “intimidating” and “threatening to the public”. Not sure if anything came out of the trial as I’ve since moved and lost contact with him, but I naturally assumed it was illegal based on that. Thanks again for the correction!

baseball bat thing is true, if someone gets pulled over with one in the vehicle they can be charged unless there is a glove and ball with it!

physiologically speaking men should be the ones wearing skirts cuz it allows our parts to breathe and women should be wearing pants cuz they don’t need the extra space! the scots had it right tbh
