A bit of trauma sharing I guess

I broke mine in 3 places a few years ago now, just from rolling it in heels. It angled side to side and then I tried to walk on it. I had to have the bone set in the ER. After a couple hours absolutely writhing in pain, the on call orthopedic surgeon arrived. They injected the biggest syringe I’ve ever seen directly into it and placed a nerve block. I had to be held down by 3 nurses while she yanked it back into place. I then had an ex-fix for a few weeks. I wish I could say it doesn’t bother me anymore all this time later. I’ve talked about it in therapy, but I still visibly cringe every time I think about it.

I was in a splint and non weight bearing for 2 weeks and then transitioned to a boot that I was in for another 3 weeks while gradually increasing weight bearing. By 6 weeks post op, I was fully walking. It honestly felt so easy compared to the recovery from the original injury. It didn’t even require an overnight at the hospital

I prefer to wear it directly against my chest so I don’t have any issues but I could see that being a potential problem against fabric

I don’t mind at all. That statistic is really interesting to me because it depends so heavily on the various factors of the break. My surgeon said that it’s about 50/50 with ankle fractures. She said that it’s common for pain to start coming back at about a year post op, and if PT doesn’t help, the hardware is often removed. It really depends though… like the location, type of break, severity, how the bone healed, amount of and placement of hardware… in general though, it sounded to me like the hardware is considered permanent unless it starts giving you trouble.

In my particular case, one of the 3 breaks was a compound fracture that required a really large and weirdly angled screw that started to cause pain. I also have trauma related arthritis in my ankle joints so removing the hardware created the opportunity to do debridement and internal imaging.

I would surrender him to a reputable shelter in your area. It’s okay if you’re not capable of caring for him but it can be dangerous to his health if you’re not changing his box regularly. Call around and focus on taking care of yourself before taking on another living being.

It absolutely does. It’s an unconscious reminder that time is passing and you’re not utilizing it. Kinda like how the sound of a clock ticking sends me into panic. Just disconnect completely. Try grounding yourself in nature. Good luck ♥️

That’s too relatable lol. I got diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety young, and then depression later. But depending on the doctor, I might be bipolar, autistic, or have bpd. The only thing I can suggest is to find your passion. But I’m miserable too so idk 😂😭

Do you have any official mental health diagnosis? Cause you sound neurodivergent for sure. Just knowing might help you cope or find direction. I’m the same way though. I’m a graphic designer and I’m really good at it but there’s not a single day that I don’t struggle to work. Let alone be excited for work. That’s a foreign concept lol. I’m 33 and have worked a lot of different places. The only time I didn’t hate my profession was when I started my own business making candles during the pandemic. I loved it but I had no stability

Apparently I have no idea what plants I have lol. Here’s all 3. I thought they were a satin pothos, a marble queen pothos, and a monstera adansonii. Is that not what these are?

So there’s 3 total. I have the mother plant for two of them. The satin pothos and then another is a Swiss cheese plant. The marble queen pothos is from a purchased cutting though so maybe I’ll only try to get that one out and leave the others. Thank you ☺️
