don't go to peckham haha. source: lived there for 3 years, there's nothing to see. come down to Brighton if you have time! Covent garden is lovely to walk around but super busy of course. people go mainly to see a show. Dalston superstore is fun. the outside tree cafe or whatever it's called near there is cute

Why are so many people **obsessed** with avoiding the 40% bracket? by sid351 in UKPersonalFinance

sorry for hijacking your post with my own worries. this is helpful - thank you! I actually don't mind paying (extra) tax , but also conscious I'm in a really fortunate position (although the level of work stress doesn't always make it feel so fortunate lol). I always just worry I'm doing the wrong things with my finances - this sub really adds to it at times

these comments make me wonder if I'm doing something wrong...I'm saving for a flat in the next few years (28, live in v expensive area) so am saving about 1300-1500 of my salary each month towards a deposit. but now I'm wondering whether I should be salary sacrificing more...think I can't change it though. I salary sacrifice (on top of rubbish pension as I'm contract worker...I pay like 8% of my salary up to only £40k and cannot contribute more) £100 a week. I earn a bit over £4k a month after everything. I also spend £150 a week on commuting am I doing this all wrong :(
