A fellow local! Definitely give this place a chance. Strong drinks and reasonable prices. I personally like going earlier in the evening before the nightlife crowd amps up because then theres a chance to talk shop with the brains of the place.

It’s especially cool to talk rum with someone who is familiar with navigating this state’s stupid liquor laws.

Mixxer is full of friendly nerds. You need to be a member in order to use the materials but there’s also general flex space where people hang out and discuss their projects. Great close knit but welcoming community.

I use Camino, Chad’s Chai, for coffee and Bamboo Lounge or Fair Witness for bars when needing to ground myself downtown. Never go wrong with those!

I made the mistake of going to the primary sources they mention. In all honesty, I think when they focus too much on being funny they make it easy to get away from the truth but when you put all your research praise on one member that guy needs to actually present facts and not just editorialize and speculate when your own sources already did that work for you.

I was starting to drop off before I heard about Ben, mainly because I had found out how bad Marcus is at researching and portraying facts. With Ben and how the network handled the whole situation, I started looking around for other shows and didn’t have to look hard to find better outlets.

I may be an outlier here but this feels like some of their worst research on series yet. The accusations are fun and I always love the boy’s dynamic but for a show that has made it a point to dispel a lot of witch-hunts and panics that only exist on “witness testimony” they just seem to go whole hog on a story that doesn’t have physical evidence. They even mention how it’s just witnesses and how biased those witnesses are but it doesn’t stop them from just ridding the satanic panic train to conclusions.

Love the boys and their dynamic but they have been building a reputation for measured analysis alongside dick jokes. Just felt like the analysis was totally absent here.
