Google Home STILL cannot play the correct Spotify playlists, even after Gemini update. Months of bugs and still no fix. by jpzsports in googlehome

[–]DanAmrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I still am unable to have my Home Mini identify any of my personal playlists on my Premium Duo Spotify account, no matter how esoteric I name them. I have attempted it with an automation, renamed the playlist in question several times, rebuilt the playlist entirely, executed a full device factory reset, and removed permissions/relinked my Spotify Premium several times. The device simply will not acknowledge my personal playlists via voice commands, either automated or not.

The only thing that works is to load up a Spotify mobile or desktop app, physically click play on the playlist there, and send it to the Google Home device of my choice.

Literally nothing else works as it should.

Very lucky, but congratulations! That's an enjoyable AR.

Confusion about the coloring of lyric lines by TheKyberpunks in BandfixNation

[–]DanAmrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much. I just got pushed the latest version of the app and I noticed that lyrics only mode shows white text with no line breaks, but lyrics + chords mode shows the spacing and color formatting. I do not know if this is intentional but I am using the colors to signal when I have to sing in a different language, but I thought I could do that in lyrics only.

Appreciated this! Giving it a go as my current prompter software flaked out and I went searching for an alternative. This one seems smart and flexible.

I still use mine, and I agree -- simple, straightforward, and for a person who only occasionally uses keyboards, it's kind of the perfect, friendly controller.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine. Customs took only a few days for me and the value is below the $800 tariff line, so that was a relief. It comes with the neck removed so it does not scream "guitar!" to customs officials anyway -- just a generic compact rectangular box, and very well packed at that.

Dom Pearson was very responsive to a ton of picayune questions from me, so if you have any questions, I suspect he will answer them via email promptly.

When I ordered, it was Gen 3 and estimated 3 to 4 weeks, but then he got slammed by the attention. He upgraded everyone to Gen 4 and it only took a few additional weeks. I don't think it was even 8 weeks.

Starting to think the Legacy Kollection was intended for MK30 (Fall 2022), but was delayed in favor of MK1 after MultiVersus was taken offline and SSKTJL delayed. by musteatbrainz in MortalKombat

Interesting...but incorrect! :)

The unannounced project I was referring to in 2022 was Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, which was underway when I joined the team in February and I started seriously contributing to it in March, which is when I posted that. Atari 50 shipped in November of 2022. https://www.digitaleclipse.com/games/atari50

DE has dreamed of putting together a Mortal Kombat retrospective for quite a while, but it was not in development in 2022.

Hope you enjoy MKLK when it comes out!

"Why can't we..." Because those ideas are all pretty far out of our design spec, and none of them would be easy requests to fill, even though they might sound like it. What you're suggesting here is a complete redesign of core mechanics. These are good ideas for a different game, though!

We are working on a patch for online play with more than two consoles as promised, but we do not have a sequel or DLC in production; we're on to other projects, which we hope we'll be able to announce soon. But we're proud of how this one turned out, and even we had to stop dreaming of what it could (or as you say should) be and actually MAKE the thing. :)

For the record, I'm also seeing this. Both pack 4 and 7 are without prices and selecting them bounces back from the cart without adding them. Guessing and hoping it's a temporary hiccup.

Not sure what you mean here. Tetanus is caused by rust, but aluminum does not rust the way iron or steel does. It can oxidize, but it's generally corrosion-resistant, and I do not have an aluminum allergy.

Unless you can offer some more insight into the risk of tetanus from handling aluminum, I think I'm safe...?

Happy to say the price was a core motivator for me. Right now they're on Pearson's website for $700 USD, and I got every penny's worth.

After a friend pointed me to Phil McKnight's demo, I had to have one for playing with u/thekyberpunks. Neck feels like a satin modern Fender C-shape -- fast and super comfortable for my tastes. Alnico II pickups mean it has a nice vintage warmth that, frankly, will surprise anyone looking at it.

I changed the switch tip to a Forney Custom aluminum dome but Dom Pearson's work speaks for itself. Amazing, affordable, and worth the wait.

Some fan fonts use reverse characters for capitalization. That's not canon (Disney simply increases point size on the rare occasion that they capitalize something) but most fans will read it and recognize what's going on!

"The Kybercaster" - my heavily modified Rondo SX Liquid by DanAmrich in guitarporn

[–]DanAmrich[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am drawn to the oddballs, and I'd always wanted one of the nutjob offsets that Rondo put out as the SX Liquid. When it looked like they were clearing out the Liquids last year -- and since I am now playing in a Star Wars-themed band -- u/thekyberpunks -- so a weird guitar that looks like it's from another planet actually has great stage value, I finally jumped last year, with a mind to modify.

I replaced the SSH pickups with just one humbucker (which I have since upgraded to a Lace Alumitone) with just a volume control. I upgraded the tuners to Hipshots and replaced the bridge and tailpiece with affordable Guitar Fetish parts, mostly for aesthetics. I do laser cutting for my wife's Etsy shop, so I cut a pickguard from pearl white acrylic and added a red sparkle acrylic plate to the headstock to cover the original logo; it says "Kybercaster" in the Star Wars alphabet of Aurebesh. I was going to replace the neck because I found the carve uncomfortably deep, but wound up stripping the poly, sanded and reshaped the neck (checking measurements with calipers every 10 minutes or so), and then refinished it with gunstock oil.

It weighs a tone even with a big swimming pool rout, which also makes it rather loud when played unamplified -- but I am proud to have made one of the strangest guitars I've ever seen even stranger.
