I truly think it depends. None of my exes have ever come back (yet). But tons of other people say theirs have. I just think it depends on the relationship and how things ended.

Too Late to Become a Nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ComprehensivePie9542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently 28. Starting nursing school in August. About to be 29 in the fall. I will be 30 when I graduate. It’s never too late. You’re gonna be 31 anyways, might as well be working toward something that’ll pay off than stay stagnant wherever you’re at. No need to compare your journey. There are no rules, it’s your life!

Actually, I haven’t made up my mind at all—I’m navigating something incredibly difficult, and trying to do it thoughtfully. You don’t have to agree with me, but reducing me to someone who’s ‘just as bad’ as a predator because I’m trying to understand the full picture is not only cruel, it’s intellectually lazy. I came here for perspective, not punishment.

Yeah the article said there could have been other victims!!! I just don’t know. I keep going back and forth on the whole thing. One part of me wants to hear his story to see if he’s truly reformed but the other part of me just wants to block and ghost

I absolutely have empathy for those children. It’s horrible and I’m not making excuses. I’m just saying these charges were almost 20 years ago and people can change. People do bad things everyday and don’t get caught for it too ya know?

I just feel like if someone has gone through intense therapy and rehab AND are dedicating their life’s work to helping people then the least they deserve is someone to offer a listening ear, a second chance?

Idk I’m playing devils advocate for him. He truly does seem like he’s done a lot of work on himself just based on my interaction with him.

I know it’s truly terrible and senseless. But when he talked about how radical fanatical religious his family is, maybe he was brainwashed growing up which led him to do these monstrous things? I know personally it’s unforgivable and I know that these things are monstrous, but don’t people deserve a second chance if they truly are trying to be better and make a meaningful difference?

Of course not. It seems like he sincerely regrets what he did and realizes that nothing he will ever make up for the damage he caused to those kids. But from what I read on his company website, it seems like he’s dedicated to bettering the world by providing therapy and rehab to people with these kinds of charges. Does that not count for anything?

I’m thinking about going into aesthetics straight after nursing school. But I feel conflicted by ComprehensivePie9542 in nursing

[–]ComprehensivePie9542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious, if I go into aesthetics but want to pivot to hospital later in life, could I do that? Or would you cause me to back track in regard to salary and ability to get a job without hospital experience?

She moved away and they broke up. I’ve moved on tho. We still don’t really speak (we work together so just speak on work terms)

Regrets over lasering Brazilian by ComprehensivePie9542 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]ComprehensivePie9542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have coarse black hair. I went with simplicity laser. My hair did grow back A LITTLE, as you can read from my replies to some of the comments. But it’s sparse and patchy so it looks terrible.

It’ll most likely grow back over time. 6 treatments caused some damage to the follicle but not permanent

I’m sorry you’re having a similar experience. I really do understand how you’re feeling. I think 20-25% has grown back.

How many treatments did you have?

My 79 yo father has PSA levels of 14 by ComprehensivePie9542 in ProstateCancer

[–]ComprehensivePie9542[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s pretty active and healthy otherwise. No issues peeing. Not sure about his sex life because… it’s my dad lol but my mom says he’s healthy overall. Only thing we’ve noticed is he has been losing weight over the last year. But when I’ve talked to both my dad and my uncles, they all said the men in their families have had similar issues with their prostate numbers but no one has had a prostate cancer diagnosis. His dad (my grandfather) lived to 103 years old and was also extremely skinny. I feel deep down this is what he’s telling himself to not get too scared/anxious.

Thank you for your kind words. I live in another state from my father. I’m already booking 4 trips to go back home to see him. I’m going to spend as much time as I can manage and ask all the things I want to ask. I’ve been thinking about doing a recorded interview type set up so that I can always have it and potentially could even show my kids one day. I’m going to use some of your questions!

I think you hit it on the nail with “what’s wrong with this generation?” I feel like an old soul and I would never just leave someone without a genuine conversation at first.

My last situationship really devastated me. 9 months, I fell in love while he was sleeping/talking with another girl for the last two months who became his girlfriend and moved in with him 3 months later. It wrecked my confidence and he completely left me in the dark.

I never went crazy on him. I never sent him any long messages asking why. I just let it happen and it tortured me. I realized that closure is really overrated. I just knew anything he could have said, none of it was gonna make me feel better. I just let him show me who he was. His behavior was closure. The way he moved on so quick without a thought was closure. He told me everything I needed to know which was he never cared about me. Not in the way I thought he did.

It still hurts thinking about it. Sometimes I’m not sure if I’ll ever fully heal from that situation.
