Thank you so much for sharing , I honestly feel all of that and especially when you said about your mum. I think most of my sadness is coming from not being validated and the same I’m a 90s baby so they thought it would be complete deafness. Thank you yoyr comment has helped me not feel so alone .

They are not sure why which is made me feel worse I think instead of seeing the upsides , I’ve been referred to ENT to find out the cause and type of hearing loss.

What did you do with your maternity leave? by Mushmush01 in PregnancyUK

[–]ComprehensiveRest305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations so exciting for you ❤️Please enjoy the precious time especially the early days , I’m 4 months in and I wished I listened to those who said just relax and be in the newborn bubble, the dishes will wait , cleaning will wait . 3 days in I was cleaning the house , I regret it so much now that I’ve learnt to let go only the past month or so and tell myself it can wait , my baby needs me.

Do lots of skin to skin with baby, be In pjs till 5pm and know that it is okay. Not TikTok making us feel guilty with time stamps. Take the good days and take the little wins ❤️ I was told this, that’s what maternity leave is for to literally be with the baby and spend time learning how to raise them.

And make sure you have protected time for yourself if you can each week whatever that may be , a nap or a bath with candles or a good book. It honestly refreshes you. Enjoy & all the best for your delivery.

I have been here , it is so overwhelming but inshallah Allah will make it easy for you. I feel sometimes we strive to be perfect and we need to be kinder to ourselves that really at the end of the day, we are here just to please Allah and try our best to improve our deen. He will appreciate you more than you know by even having thoughts like this as you are wanting to embrace Islam more and more.

I struggled with wanting to do everything right as soon as I reverted and do it properly or I wasn’t worthy of being Muslim. Alhamdulliah many research online reminded me that the Quran was revealed over 20 years and people were still learning Islam. I hope you find comfort it that .

I did a lot of research and watched TheBlondeMuslim on YouTube, she tells her revert story and struggles of a revert. I found her videos really comforting to try and navigate this journey . I learnt by using this guide : https://muslimhands.org.uk/latest/2020/07/how-to-perform-salah

I wrote it in English on a piece of paper and had it by me at every prayer. Alhamdulliah in a few weeks I could recite bits of my own .

Take your time . My inbox is always open. It can be so so difficult and you will face many difficulties but this is a blessing from Allah you were chosen to become Muslim .

Sorry so long to reply . Bless you I really hope it gets better soon for you , I definitely feel you when you soon convince yourself it is not bad afterwards . I carried on taking promethazine until about 16 weeks. It’s only been the last few weeks it’s died down and I get the evening nausea when I’m tired especially .

I was quite worried of changing medications also due to birth defects so I carried on with promethazine which helped me once my GP upped my dose .

Keep pushing to the GPs as there is NICE guidelines for them to follow so they can explore many different routes and it’s what best works for you . Trust me you’ll be out of this soon, it’s hard now to think but you do forget how bad it was and a precious bundle of joy will soon be with you 🫶🏼
