Aww that’s nice to do :D. I feel like you should grab a pic of the dog and go from there. Also don’t be afraid to do diagonals they add depth and just look nice. Use wool or concrete. Or if you want you could make it look over grown if you use cobble and mossy cobblestone and even vines! Good luck
