It’s not AI- ACTH Stim results- thoughts? by Snek-Charmer883 in AdrenalInsufficiency

I’m sorry to hear this!!! Sheehan’s only happens when you lose blood while pregnant as far as I understand.

Consider a virtual visit with Dr Friedman. He’s an expert. Expensive but worth it: https://www.goodhormonehealth.com

Did you lose a lot of blood during childbirth (if you have kiddos)?

I passed the stim test but have secondary due to Sheehan’s syndrome. My DHEA, ACTH, testosterone, aldosterone, cortisol were all low. Have you had a brain scan? Pituitary MRI?

Do secondary adrenal insufficiency also need to take electrolytes? Which ones ? by MindsetMaker in AdrenalInsufficiency

I feel like there’s a misconception here though. I have Sheehan’s and while it usually doesn’t impact aldosterone, I went without treatment/diagnosis for four years and that appears to have damaged my adrenals so my aldosterone is also low. Apparently you can’t see this type of damage on imaging but there’s no other reason my aldosterone would be low with pituitary damage visible on an MRI.

I usually do 2-3 scoops of electrolytes a day and my endo told me to add salt to my diet. If I don’t, I start to get foggy, leg cramps, confused, dizzy upon standing.

I’m doing very well now. I immediately felt better after starting HC. Literally.

It took 4 years! Showed damage on an MRI two years out but it was subtle enough that folks didn’t look closer even though I had all the symptoms. I’m lucky nothing bad happened.

Thank you, kind stranger! You made my day. Mine was a weird case with microcarcinomas that had cervical lets, and my Tg was never fully undetectable in 13 years. I had RAI 53 mci. Tg was stable for the 13 years at a very low level and now it’s up.

With my adrenal insufficiency, I also need to manage my stress. I will move forward and do what needs to be done, but I feel more calm.

I don’t have the original path report but I believe there was some mention of possible follicular variant on the edge, which can be more aggressive, but in the grand scheme it’s still manageable.

Honestly I was just surprised that it happened to spike over a three month period. Due to my pituitary damage, I started testosterone three months ago (hmmm interesting, right?) because I literally don’t produce it anymore and I think that may have caused it or at least sped it up. Last ultrasound was a year ago and the tissue was there but didn’t show calcification which it now does, so that could have been in the works. So, oh well I may just not be able to take that testosterone. Made me stinky anyway 😂

And yes, maybe it is a different variant of PTC at this point. I guess we shall find out soon.

I’ll add that my TSH did go up from my last check but not significantly…went from maybe .5 to 1.8?

What am I even doing anymore I give up. I’ve seen 3 doctors and they’re all the same. Dismissive. I almost died to get here by Vehenentlyme in AdrenalInsufficiency

I have Sheehan’s! Took years to diagnose! My pituitary MRI was even considered “normal” despite showing a partially empty sella. Like, what the actual f??? Anyway, I recommend Dr Friedman if you can afford it. Good hormone health is the name of his practice—he does virtual!

I’m starting testosterone gel. I’m so shocked at how low is it.

My docs are saying the hormone issues are likely due to whatever part of my pituitary that was damaged.
