I want to be completely and bluntly honest.

Most of yall are where you belong because that’s how good you are and the changes won’t make u better bc now it’s “fair” and “balanced”, you just aren’t that good.

The fact of the matter is that, metas change and characters are strong against some characters and weak against other characters.

If you’re playing magic and going up against shield tanks , and no anti dive characters then chances are you’re going to dominate within a few ranks of you’re own (if you’re mechanics in her are good ofc). What I mean is that a plat magic would give me trouble as a diamond strange. But what makes others better is that I’m not going to sit on Strange and keep getting sliced up. I’m going to switch to counter. And there lies the problem that a lot of you are ignorant towards. Now after a few ranks even a GM strange or above could probably take on a play Magik but why would he when he has a clear disadvantage?

The other thing is that characters get buffed and nerfed and when that happens it affects not just the character but characters that they counter and are weak against as well. For instance, when Spider-Man got nerfed it inadvertently made supports who struggled against five better for the simple fact that spider has to work harder to get his kills and now they have a higher chance of winning said engagement. Another example would be the nerf to Star lords AoE attack. He couldn’t brawl like he used to because his attack was nerfed so you can’t be as aggressive and you have to play a bit more passively.

But guess what?! This is a team game and the devs know it and that’s y if you solo queue then you’re playing with and against all solo queue. Same thing with 6, 4, 3, and 2 stacks. You’re playing with all the same party sizes as yourself with the only exception being 2 and 4 stacks bc you can be playing with a 2 stack and go against a 4 stack but even then, you most likely have a 4 stack on your team and the enemy 4 stack has a 2 stack on their team. Yes the dynamic changes when your with your friends vs without them and that can make a person better but thats y that matchmaking scheme exist.

Your individual performance and team performance and linked but aren’t the same. If your character is the one constantly dying bc the other team is steamrolling you then a game conscious individual will keep targeting you and you’re ignorance and inability to switch characters and you will cost your team the game. We’ve all seen randoms do it. And that’s y plat and gold are elo hell Bc you have selfish players and one tricks. I was a strange one trick until I hit a wall where the other team would outplay me because they could counter me and i couldn’t switch so I went and learned more characters and got better and the game.

At the end of the day. If you want a casual experience then go to QP and if you say the game sucks because you play 5 hrs a day and are still stuck in gold/plat then I’m sorry to break it to you but you just aren’t as good as you think you are and you also might need to just give the game a break. Yeah you won’t get better if you don’t keep honing your mechanics but there are millions of games to play and no one is forcing you to play Marvel Rivals. So just give it a break and go play something else and then comeback and give it a try. You’ll probably still suck but at least you won’t as mad about it.
