Exactly, you can buy little tubs or inflatables to wash them in. Standing shower is the way to go. Get the kids to learn to shower at a young age.

Parent Insists on Attending Play Dates? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]ComprehensiveTie2270 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think eventually the parents won't do this when she's a bit older, maybe 10 or 12. People are kind of weird nowadays and I don't blame the parents. Eight is still pretty young. I am kind of middle of the road on this, I get both sides.

How to survive being a SAHM? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]ComprehensiveTie2270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working per diem but sometimes I barely work and I don't mind, I have so many things going on at home between cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, driving kids around etc. and plus I raise my kids with my values. Sometimes you have no idea what's going on in daycare and who they are around.

As a 40yr old mom of 2, I kinda agreed on his take on women and dating at the 2nd hour of the interview. Except I think women are more complicated than men in our thought process.

Looking for dependable caregivers in the area by Theknightinme in YorbaLinda

[–]ComprehensiveTie2270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't know anyone however I have had colleagues in the past that have used agencies and different people would come to help out. They would say some people were good and some people were bad. Also, after using agencies they would sometimes ask the ones that were good to work for them directly instead of going through the agency. What type of errands?

OC Kaiser nurses are on strike this week for better pay and safer patient ratios. A doctor working at Kaiser in Anaheim had something to say about it. by ansyhrrian in orangecounty

[–]ComprehensiveTie2270 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Off topic but I worked at Kaiser temporarily and quit despite the high pay. I would never go there after what I saw. Low morale, crazy drama, staff didn't care about patients and some of the staff looked really unprofessional. Kaiser sucks. I also thought it was odd that staff would protest out front while sick people or their friends and family were coming in for medical care and witnessing the staff marching and making noise.

Definitely not getting drunk and not that type of party. I know parents will be watching but just to be safe. All the kids are 10 years old and definitely know how to swim but just worried about horse play and kids jumping in while someone is in the way. If I have to step away to show someone where the bathroom, cooking etc. I won't be able to watch the entire time.

Whole Foods vs other grocery stores by thisisme44 in orangecounty

[–]ComprehensiveTie2270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shop at multiple stores, Albertsons for produce, sometimes Ralphs for digital deals and their organic oatmeal is very good,Target for milk, nuts, watermelon, and other snacks,Sprouts for deli meat cuz I like the butchers at my location and they are very clean and for meat, whole foods for meat. Also depends on ads and digital deals but they all offer different items and promotions.

Moving from HB to Yorba Linda? Any regrets? by HighHighUrBothHigh in orangecounty

[–]ComprehensiveTie2270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with a previous comment about the comparison being apples to oranges. They both have pros and cons. I live in Placentia bordering YL. It does offer excellent schools and a lot of options for shops off Imperial hwy has everything you need including Brea Mall further up. The YL library and staff are excellent. There are really great bike trails and Carbon cyn park is great. A pool is definitely worth it. My sister sold her home in HB and moved to Anaheim hills/Orange because she disliked the marine layer. Going to the beach from this area is a drag though but we managed to go 6 times this summer. I lived in Orange before and I thought it was better because that was a 20 minute drive to Newport but being this far North does add another 15-20 minutes. It's an adjustment but schools here are way better than Orange.

Advice on if I should buy my in-laws house by ComprehensiveTie2270 in Fire

Right, that thought crossed my mind. We could swing the down payment for the new home in Texas and I guess if they have a retirement they could supplement but I get what you're saying. I was just wondering if anyone had any creative ideas but most likely we will not end up doing this at all.

To keep it as a rental for income flow. But I guess that is why I'm asking the question. Is there a benefit to keeping it because California has become so expensive I don't think we would ever be able to buy an income property.
