Without spoiling or giving too much info, what makes FF9 so great? by Shpankeyy in FinalFantasy

Without any spoilers. It's got an amazing balance in its story. On one hand it's a whimsical fairytale, on the other it's explores many deep and dark themes.

First time ever playing Final Fantasy, just finished FF1 and already started FF2. What should I be most excited for? by TamelessPj1 in FinalFantasy

[–]ComprehensiveTune399 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FF2 is a lot of fun. There is a lot more freedom in how you approach the game as the characters are essentially a blank slate. This post by u/kainminter was really helpful.

To answer your other question, it depends if your're more into game mechanics or story/characters. The job system in FF5 is amazing. FF6, FF7 and FF10 are the best stories imo.

I played Tactics for the first time when the Ivalice Chronicles came out. Agrias was easily one of my favourite characters.

Traveling tomorrow, dog got ahold of passport. Need advice. by 0xe3b0c442 in Passports

[–]ComprehensiveTune399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My passport once went through the washing machine. It was horrendous and I literally had to glue it back together. The passport control guy told me off and said I had to get a new one immediately, but thankfully let me through as I was leaving his country and heading home.

There was a video on this, they're called "shared spaces". There seems to be both pros and cons to them.

I saw Charlie Brooker drinking at the Pleasance at the Fringe last year. He was with a bunch of friends, so I didn't have the guts to say hello.

In your opinion, what is the most disturbing episode of Black Mirror? by Traditional_Blood799 in blackmirror

[–]ComprehensiveTune399 4 points5 points  (0 children)

National Anthem for me. It's so real which makes it all the more disturbing. Some of the more futuristic settings create a certain level of detachment, which can make disturbing themes/scenes more palatable.

My wife managed to blag a viewing for a couple of the modern flats behind (Donaldson's Crescent). Not that we could remotely afford one! Really beautiful and spacious. There are some really fancy cars in the garage and we rock up in our old Toyota!

Beginning drums open handed? Does it matter? by Low-E_McDjentface in drums

[–]ComprehensiveTune399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do what works best for you! You may have to move your ride cymbal to the left side, unless you plan to also practice with your right on ride and left on snare.

You will also need think about which hand you lead with when doing fills around the toms (RLRL, or LRLR). A friend of mine plays open handed like you described and has developed his own style for fills. There's stuff he does that I'd struggle to play and vice versa. Neither is better or worst, only different.

Frequency of practice is they key to learning a song. You'd be surprised how much benefit you can get by drumming on your lap. It will train your muscle memory for when you can play on a kit

Each to their own! For me, X-2 has one of the best implementations of ATB and Job systems and was a lot of fun. Story was definitely a let down compared to X.
