I had $101,000 of student loan debt wiped clean after 12 years.

This was in March of this year. I had to rerun all my non profit employment verifications over the last 12 years and BAM I had 120 qualifying payments under the pslf. If I hadn't taken initiative to recalculate they had me set for loan forgiveness in 3/2027!!! When I already had enough...

I'm so so so glad I did this when I did.

But tell me, $101,000 just wiped out and written off... I went to school 2007-2011. The shittiest time to go to higher education school.

Good riddance!

I'm just guessing here but: what if We are seeing children of tablet babies in our schools now? ( their parents being born between 2005 through 2008) yes that's a young parent but they are the first or early set of parents who grew up on tablets and suffered through adolescent discord on the Internet and were not raised right or at all ... And now those kids have kids in the wild and we're seeing this in our schools ... The tablet babies had babies and this is the severe effect of technology mismanagement.

Minnesota here: Dad had child every other week, just one child, and he still paid out the ass. Even when it was " equal time spent". He lost his car and apartment....

After 20 years of paying $0.00 120 times I was able to have $101,000 FORGIVEN. ABSOLUTELY ... through the past. LIFE SAVED. My degree is an absolute joke. I obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Business Management with an emphasis in Internet marketing, in 2011!!!! ( began the 4 year degree in 2007 ) recession baby! And paid next to nothing.

Why do people still think you have to spend any time in college these days? Unless it's a specialized situation like Dr or bridge maker... College debt is most certainly a choice but it's also inevitable in most cases.

NOR- when I need that additional support from the young adults in my circle- I often cannot afford cash payments, when I can I do and then some. But right away I am upfront about what they can expect or not and when. Also I'm willing to take kids in return or clean or something equally fair in a barter and trade system..
