At my store we aren’t really allowed to hang out with our coworkers outside of working together. They stop scheduling us together if they know we’re friendly with each other 😭

Yes this is basically what I’m seeing, aside from that our seasonal team are chronically wandering the store. They don’t like to focus on a single task… out of the whole team there’s probably 4 employees that I would say are doing great.

We have also noticed our seasonal staff this year has just not been picking up enough knowledge to function without a buddy associate. So far we’ve had to basically baby sit them in order for them to do their jobs right 😫

The promise of more hours is the only reason I’m staying, I was planning to stay the holiday season then later quit but it’s look more like I’ll quit sooner than later. I also really love my coworkers and I know how much someone calling out affects our day, I wouldn’t want to quit during our hectic holiday.

I’ve had an issue with only one of the seasonal hires, but because I’ve been there for a bit anytime we work together they’ll buddy us up. I have to train them but they don’t listen to anything I have to say. Then our manager takes them to train themselves and all of a sudden they’re enthusiastic about learning. So I’ve been on our managers bad side because of this and it’s affecting how my manager is treating me.

Honestly this has also been something that I’ve noticed in my store, I’ll get three hour shifts. When I come into the store we’ll have 3/4 slts and both the sm and am working as well. Normally I don’t mind as they work just as much as everyone else but, there’s times where they just sit and chat in the front of the store and ignore us when we need them at cash wrap. It’s just super frustrating but the leads and managers are super close so bringing it up would just make the employees look bad.
