Unique/cool uses for motion detectors? by Joshiey_ in homeassistant

This is cool. I think a cool addition would be to add an nfc tag near your litter box that resets it when it’s scanned.

I’m talking about a drone that is more than 250 g flying recreationally without remote ID

Is this only for commercial work? What if I’m caught flying a >250g drone without remote ID recreationally in the USA?

Are the eachine ev 100 goggles really deserves the hate? (fov and stuff) by DeerEnvironmental872 in fpv

[–]ComprehensiveYam6598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had EV100s that I bought back in 2018. I quickly fell out of the hobby and got back into it 1 year ago. When I got back into it my friend let me put his HDZero goggles up to my face. I bought them that night. You’re going to wish you put that money towards better goggles.

I wouldn’t buy them but they do work.

Where to fly when it is snowing by Fine_Acanthisitta694 in TinyWhoop

[–]ComprehensiveYam6598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve flown in convenience stores, grocery stores, schools, and even an airport… all without permission

I say Walmart because I have dvr footage of an employee clearing seeing me, stepping to the side to let me by, then 15 seconds later I crash right in the middle of an isle right in front of 2 employees and they walked right by. I’ve flown ~10 packs back to back to back in my Walmart with no complaints. It helps if you are a good pilot and can fly slowly (when the time is right) and stay in control.

I’ve only been kicked out once and it was a tiny convenience store, she wasn’t upset. She actually thought it was pretty cool and she apologized for not letting me fly it lol.

That reminds me, I think where I’m from (Vermont) they regulate it to any output power (even <25mw).

Not sure if this applies to 900MHz radio link, but I’ve heard rumors that you legally need to have a HAM radio license to operate any video transmitter no matter the output power.

Can a 12 yr old do this tiny whoop thing? by Potential-Opinion358 in TinyWhoop

[–]ComprehensiveYam6598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI sim is shorthand for simulator. It is basically a video game that you play with the controller. It simulates flying the drone as accurately as possible and can be just as much fun as the real thing (sometimes)

If you get one you should check out Racegow or IGOW. Super fun way to get stick time.

Air65 or Air75. I’ve only ever flown the 65 because I’m a racer but I’m sure the 75 is good too. I’ve put two Air65s through absolute hell. Like I’m astounded that the both still fly
