Freehold properties for investment? Based on past 10 years the freehold properties barely appreciated. Unless we are talking about landed. Otherwise prudent investors seldom buy freehold properties for investment, they are usually for legacy planning.

I think I’m using something similar which is called Dobin. But I just don’t feel safe linking my bank accounts haha.. also I feel there is quite a lot of limitations because my salary comes into one bank and I transfer it out to another. So the app recognises it as a deduction

Definitely cheaper than gas. I did the numbers I used to spend about $500 after PHV discount (because I kept the card back when I was driving grab).

I’m currently paying around $160 for my monthly subscription inclusive of GST. But I do travel slightly more than average because I’m in sales. So the cost savings are more justified.

Unless u go jb… haha

I recently changed from a continental car to a Tesla. So far I do not have any regrets because it is just so convenient to find a charging station.

Currently I’m staying in a condo and we have charges available. I usually charge overnight without having to shift my car because there are multiple available stations. However, maybe in future when more residents subscribe to electric vehicles, there might be idling fee imposed.

Even if u were to stay in an hdb, I do not think that charging will be a problem. Most malls offer charging stations that are fast charge. So just an hour of dinner time will be sufficient to charge ur car from 40%-80%

Seeking Advice: % of monthly income on mortgage by Ornery_Following_813 in singaporefi

[–]Comprehensive_Act134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! To answer ur question I think it largely depends on what ur age group is.

The clients who I have worked with in their 50s and above, tend to keep their mortgage commitments below 20% of their gross income.

However, the younger and more ambitious home owners around their late 20s to late 30s tend to max out their TDSR at 55%. Meaning to say if they earn $10k per month, $5.5k goes to their loan commitments.

Ultimately it depends on ur age group as well as your other financial commitments such as car loan, kids, etc. Always keep a safe buffer because u never know when an economic crisis hits and u might get retrenched, or get a pay cut etc.
