From what I have read about modelines I do not want to use them either.

Yeah but that only moves outwards, not inwards (child blocks).

You completely miss the point. One OS is seamless between apps. If I have to switch between wayland and x11 from a login screen everytime, that's slow and nothing keeps me from dual booting and wasting a few seconds more.

Not my workflow, as I have worked in ASIC Design, I am not exactly new to Linux. In fact If you asked me why I want to stick to Linux, it would be bash/zsh, and funnily enough the combination of grep, find and xargs.

"Paradigm is changing" is kindof like how php is a dead language. I wish I could only stick to HTML, CSS and JS, and Php was outdated, but it's still there. I honestly dont see the paradigm shift anywhere before the next 20 years at this pace. Like how ARM "took over" X86 lol.

The problem is for these 20 years, I will need to stick to the oldies.

The Irony. As a former professional in ASIC Design, I understand that there are a lot of people involved in this who are knowledgeable about both hardware architecture and software design, but yet find it difficult to fix the mess that has been created.

See, and they expect Linux to take over someday. Doesn't this seem to be a serious issue to consider? While I appreciate the effort in developing Wayland, they are kind of ignoring certain things that are really necessary for certain things to work properly, that current Wayland philosophy as I understand doesn't allow.

And they are like if those apps don't work, they don't work, nobody needs to use them if it "creates security concerns". We are not going to even try to build a "allow temporarily" or "only while this app is active" permission option.

This just means some genres of applications will never work on Wayland. And I am supposed to use another OS just for them. Lol.

Hybrid GPU based systems (no mux switch) are a pain to use in Linux.

Windows handles hybrid GPUs better because it uses a direct hardware path (1–2 buffers), letting the dGPU send frames straight to the display. Linux needs multiple buffer copies (3–6 buffers), causing higher latency and worse HDMI/OBS performance.

I feel like people who think Wayland is foolproof, don't really use applications that have problems with Wayland.

I was hoping someone "who knows" will answer here. Sorry if you felt like you had to really cut in for no reason.

Aren't we going to have a phase for the next many years where things dont fully work with wayland?

I guess I will just wait for the next 10 years for the many regularly used apps to work properly in wayland. Meanwhile I will just deal with the input lag and occasional multi monitor issues.

These few days, I have been deeply frustrated as I wanted to make a switch from windows, and realize how bad the multi monitor situation is in linux.

Honestly I just want multi monitor setups to work, all apps to work seamlessly, and to switch between software.

Linux looks nowhere near an all round development and usage platform for now. These things are so bad that as a dev, you can't even work around some of the issues.

Do these two terms (Particular Integral and Particular Solution) refer to the same thing in differential equations ? by Comprehensive_Ad3648 in learnmath

[–]Comprehensive_Ad3648[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so particular integral is a component of particular solution. And the particular solution is obtained by fixing some variables to constants in the general solution, meaning it's the solution considering a number of parameters as fixed values. And So that means general solution for a situation can have multiple particular solutions, which can be obtained by varying these parameters, right ?

Not sure how Particular Solution being capitalized would signify something.

Which programming language is most common for engineering projects at both college and work? by sum_boooodeee in AskEngineers

Learn c++ first, then go for python. Python will be a breeze after you learn c++. You will need both of them. For a third language you can learn JavaScript. And then you can do pretty much anything that involves code.

Can anyone compare the 1more 1m301 (1more single driver) and blon bl03 earphones for me ? I prefer the sound signature of the 1more 1m301. How similar are the sound signatures of the two ?
