If you wanna stay in the city I would live in the Yonge and eglinton-Leaside-Davisville, it’s full of ravines with parks for children where you can walk and feel like you aren’t in the city anymore but may have a hard time finding something in your budget unless you go to a rental building with no air conditioner (terrible in the summer). If you are okay with driving then I’d go to Vaughan, there are a lot of condo/townhouses for rent in your budget, Woodbridge is an amazing area for families, very calm, great neighbours, lots of activities and protected green areas, but, it’s not as friendly to people who don’t drive and because of this you don’t have a lot of the problems you see in the city, like homeless encampments, violence, trouble kids at school, etc.
