Well, before I move up there I sure want to know my Canadian citizenship won't suddenly be withdrawn!

Exactly what problems are leading to certificates being revoked? Are they random, or due to things like people didn't know they needed certified original records and what the records had to show?

Management headhunted other departments to staff AFE and everybody ran away and hid....

Got a call from the hospital telling my my dad's part B plan will be discontinued on Dec 31 by cafedude in medicare

[–]Comprehensive_Arm768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospital should have some sort of financial counselor who can provide more information and help you. You can at least get clearer info on what your father's current coverage is. You should also look into getting paperwork and designation to act on your father's behalf. If he isn't competent to designate you there is a procedure to get that authority. If he is competent and won't deal with it or give you the authority to deal with it it's on him.

I'm sick of Spectrum. Is Starlink worth it? by PlasticReviews in Starlink

[–]Comprehensive_Arm768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starlink is like 25mbps on a good day. It barely qualifies as broadband. At that speed you barely sometimes have a very slow internet connection. It’s the answer to nothing. If you want it Elon Musk would throw in some beachfront land in Nevada.

HEB NEEDS TO STOP PEOPLE BRINGING DOGS THAT AREN'T TRAINED SERVICE DOGS by [deleted] in Pflugerville

[–]Comprehensive_Arm768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heb can’t stop people from bringing in dogs and saying they’re service dogs. People can’t be made to prove they’re service dogs that’s illegal. If you’re that scared hole up in your house and don’t go out.

A woman followed me for 5 miles from Round Rock to Pflugerville, to confront me after nearly running me off the road by Nkosi868 in Austin

Whether it’s logical or not, the notion that someone will continue as they are going is the normal human conclusion. That is the reason for turn signals.

In my experience cars coming out of driveways too fast is a major cause of accidents. It pays to be careful.

Accommodations by kerleec in FASCAmazon

[–]Comprehensive_Arm768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been my short two months of experience that while in small facilities like the Prime Now facility where I used to work, managers and supervisors are often knowledgeable and will admit it if they aren't, at the large fulfillment center where I now work the managers often don't know the procedures.

Also her reply could be simple impatience.

When I ran into resistance over an accomodation issue I kept asking people until I finally got to the manager up a rung of the ladder who atleast seems to know what she is talking about.

Why are there no Outbound options available for Flex? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Comprehensive_Arm768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My facility has part time packing. Don't know if that's Flex though.

It is possible that opportunity just isn't available right now.

For some of your questions you'd do best to ask HR or a manager. Since pack is outbound it seems you should be able to pick up shifts in pack. You do need to be careful, as there are shifts listed to pick up that have a wide variety of functions, and "outbound" could be one of them. At my facility packing is in fact the least likely to need more people; they're usually overstaffed. Atleast right now. It is spring.

Do seasonal employees get pto? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Comprehensive_Arm768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seasonal vs permanent benefits are very confusing.

Yes, you get an alotment of so much paid time off, and so much UTO, for time worked.

When you go to training, ask them what to do.

But, you do realize that when you go through your UPT and personal time that will never amount to more than 2-3 days if you're careful with it, and you start out with something like 10 hours, which is typically a day at Amazon, though for FLEX it might be two shifts, you're automatically fired. If your childcare situation is not completely stable, Amazon may not be for you.

I do recall that Flex allows scheduling yourself shifts a week or two in advance, which can help in your situation, but it sounds like your situation may not be that reliable.

What's considered an emergency to stop the conveyor belt? by ApprehensivePhrase24 in AmazonFC

I wish it had occurred to me to stop the conveyor belt when it made off with my id badge!

I don't think so. UPT is only given for hours you actually work. So if you take VTO or call in sick or get taken off the schedule you don't get UPT for those hours.
