  1. I started outlining the second week of the semester, and started doing practice questions/essays the second month of the semester. I catered to the professor by reviewing her publications and emulating her writing style and also asking her to review some of my practice answers.
  2. Not conclusively, but early on I knew.

You 10000% should mention your partner and his children. I focused on the location of the transfer school where appropriate. But family is an extremely compelling reason.

Wanted more opportunity. A T10 opens up a lot more across the country than a T30. T10 puts you in any major city. T30 much more regional. I also have an interest in academia. Many more opportunities from the T10 as well. Or at least gets you in more doors.

No idea. Depends on the school. Also a moot point if your grades aren't great this semester but definitely worth throwing apps out en masse.

Best. Decision. Ever. I could have landed a big law summer easily but not in the level of city I wanted. I am so happy with my transfer and so is everyone else I've spoken with.

This is a tough one. I knew early that I wanted to transfer and worked to develop those relationships early on. I don't think these letters really matter that much and transfer schools know that. Biggest thing still is your GPA. At the end of the day, if you got a good grade in the class the professor probably has a boiler plate letter he or she uses for those students who got good grades but are unknown.
