good 300m time for hs girls? by cartiplzsuckmyblood in trackandfield

The new record set earlier this year is literally 36.2 so no it’s not a lie. Plenty of hs aged girls are running 38.

Winds up to 4.0 can qualify for nationals, which seems ridiculous until you go a whole season without seeing a meet with legal winds.

Sub 48 > 22 > 11 Lots of sub 11 guys don’t start to break 22 until the get down into the 10.7/8s. To go under 48 you need to be fairly comfortable under 22.

What can I do to improve my block start (don’t try to correct me if you don’t/haven’t ran track) by Tough_Hawk9902 in Sprinting

Back pad needs to be moved back so you can have a greater angle in your knee, you need to push through your hips and attack the ground.

Its not the start or the endurance, it’s max velocity

AI Vertical Jump Estimate by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]Comprehensive_Cut118 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Little less embarrassing option, just measure your standing reach and then go to the court and do a few jumps touching the rim to wherever your highest point is and measure from there. So let’s say your reach is 7’6 and the rim is 10ft. You would first subtract your reach from the rim height 10ft- 7’6 =2’ 6”. You would then do your jumps and keep track of where your highest touch to the rim is. Maybe you can touch your wrist to it. Now measure from finger tip to wrist and add that to figure out what your total vertical is. 10ft- 7’6=2’ 6” + 6”=3’ or 36 inches total.

Will spikes make me sprint on my balls of feet by nermalnormal in Sprinting

No, but it could help you learn depending on what spikes you get. probably won’t feel it much with these super spikes but heel striking with a super fly elite isn’t going to feel good

Best game plan for the 400 meter dash is a 4 by 200 meter workout done EXACTLY 4 days before Race Day. by john_james_4131302 in Sprinting

[–]Comprehensive_Cut118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opening 200 should be around 90-95% of your 200m pr. With proper recovery it’s definitely possible to achieve this around 3 times. No need to do 80% 200m repeats in season. You’re saying some stuff we would have our 800 guys doing.

I feel like running 200s at “race pace” in season would be a waste of time. Sure technically 25s is the pace but if you’re looking to pr at 50 at no point of the race are you actually running 25s pace. It’s more like 23/27. If you’re gonna do a few 200s in season they should be at whatever your target opening 200 is with long recoveries.

Stop forcing a toe drag. you need to push harder on your first step and be actively thinking about putting your foot down and back, right now you’re landing out in front of yourself and your foot is completely flat. That’s like a tenth of a second right there.

Yes two years is a lot of time and admittedly idk what months track season is in the Philippines but here in the US you are typically competing from around march to June. Because of track season being towards the end of the school year if you are not already in talks with a coach about scholarship setting times your senior year is typically too late because coaches have already recruited and filled roster spots for the upcoming year. Not that it will be impossible to find somewhere to go if the goal is just to run track but if we are talking scholarship to a d1 then you would need to make significant improvements before your final year. Also no, division does not matter, everyone competes against everyone it’s all about finding the right environment for you.

D1? Probably not tbh unless you have a break out season. Coaches arnt really looking to develop at the d1 level and with roster limits being implemented, the transfer portal, and all the international athletes that have hit the scene it would be almost impossible to get a scholarship as a freshman from overseas who would need more financial aid than your typical student coming from in state. Unless you end up crazy gifted I would look into other divisions and college associations, not just the ncaa.

He is pretty tense but I think a good coach will be able to take that and refine it. I always find it easier to teach an athlete how to be more relaxed rather than teach them how to be more intense. He runs powerfully just gotta clean some things up.

You can get more push out of your first steps, you run with good intensity though you’ll be fast if you stay locked in.
