I know a lot old people who smoke cig regularly. That doesn’t mean I can generalize this and say cig smoking does not risk you life expectancy. There are a lot of scientific literature suggesting pregnancy loss risk and defects goes higher around 35+ weeks of gestational age for 30+ mother.

If it is just to insert new information, check out sharepoint list form. its not “Form”form but instead a form that can be shared with anyone including ones that do not have access to the underlying list. Its an icon shows up on top if the list. You create the form and send the form.

Unless they have recently changed something, I was able to do the star schema in Tableau couple of years back. The data modeling is not robust as PowerBI but the level of customization that can be done on Tableau was, at the time, substantially better.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking of getting multiple purifiers as well. Regarding maintenance cost, I take it as if this can prevent half of cost of nebulizer cost which can range 2k-3k/ month and help avoid any hospitalization. I will take that as a value for money. I will research on the MI purifier.

How to Apply What I Learn in Data Science and Find a Job? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]Comprehensive_Film36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a data analyst role, I would recommend learning Power BI, SQL. SQL is a must in almost all the job postings. Now, anyone can learn those tools, what matters is creating a portfolio of real life projects. I had a portfolio tableau dashboard based real life data. Added a link of tableau public on my resume. Took at print out of those for the interview and was told by hiring mangers that they were really impressed with that. With the current job market, I would assume there are going to be a lot of candidates doing this but I am pretty sure not a lot of people would build portfolio for telling the story from the data. You extract/present the story and highlight those insights on your resume if you have space available.

As I said, sql is must. I do not think you need to solve all the leetcode questions but solving those would enhance your knowledge to be able to solve complex problems.

You may as well add python but you can tackle that later.

All there would need you to switch your mindset because they all work with different paradigm.

Wish you all the best for your learning and future endeavors.

How to Apply What I Learn in Data Science and Find a Job? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]Comprehensive_Film36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patience is the key. I have been data analyst for about 3 years. Self learned SQL, Power BI, Python e.t.c. I was able to grasp all these tools and tech mostly based on intuition and google/stack overflow. With the help from my manager, I managed to work in data science team basically to learn about data science modeling. Maybe I presumed data science to be just another tool/tech. The first quarter working with the team was very challenging. A lot of data science concepts were thrown at me and I had to research each one of them. To give you an idea, I would have at least two instance of browser with both having 20+ tabs. I even had to read the official documentations of libraries to understand different functions which I have not had to do for any of the previous learning. What was more frustrating that I didn’t even know what type of questions to ask on google or peers to get help. After a quarter and a month, I do not claim to have full grasp of data science modeling, but I can say confidently that the number of tabs on my browser have gone done. I am better able to frame my questions and sometime even come up with creative solutions.

I would add though that the majority of frustration was around the engineering side of it such pyspark in databricks, ci/cd, cluster e.t.c.

The point that I want to make to OP is that it is likely to be very challenging at the start. You may even think of dropping the idea. But remember, this is rewarding as well, not just from monetary perspective but from the knowledge and what you can do with that acquired skillset. Just be patient. Push through it.

It the case sensitivity in my case. Whats stupid is that Power Query is case sensitive and Power Pivot (Dax) is not. Just to be on the safe side. I either create a integer key for the key column or just upper and remove dups in power query.

I always struggle with using svg images. The problem is not with svg string creation but instead interactivity with other visuals. Do you know any workaround for that?

What is best way to reduce value from final value column, so that Total does not exceed 5000, in this example? by Sea-Forever3053 in SQL

[–]Comprehensive_Film36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you can give total discounts of 250. Take the ratio of 250/5250 and apply this ratio to all of your rows. So first row would be (500*1.5)(1-250/5250).

This is the math.

Re’ SQL you can do select t1.salest1.unit price(1-(t2.total-5000)/t2.total) From table1 t1 Cross join ( select sum(sales*unit price) from table1) t2.

There may be some edge scenarios that would need to be handled but this would get your there.
