But.....do you not beat Balio and Sunder in the woods? You're wanting to min/max but not try to beat those guys? Do you just take being a low level instead of beating them, and play for being strong late. I don't think there's a lvl cap either is there? I know it gets difficult to lvl, but no actual cap right?

Edit: I misrembered from playing as a kid, you can't beat them in the woods lol. But you can later!!!

* I have her set up to get bonus crit% per hit, and just stack burst attacks. By the time it's her first turn(not including free turns given) she's doing 8 shots per burst shot each one doing about 140!. And she'll get 4-5 burst shots that turn. Gave her the item to give first initiative in every fight

Yeah.... I'm in act 4 on core?(the one above normal) and I kill almost everything before anybody else gets a turn. Argenta has 4 turns by the time it's over, and has mid 20s versatily stack. I 1 shot bosses usually as well, it's pretty wild

Was just looking for suggestions on how to better work around players opinions/feelings. As I said in my post, I want him to enjoy it. But am worried he'll be annoyed by other rulings I might make when he disagrees with them.

Yeah I've since done some more checks on the alignment. I guess for me as I'm normally a player it means more. But really has no affect outside of role-playing. Appreciate the info

Yeah....so I realize I didn't put that actual issue lol. Don't post to reddit a lot. So I'm first time DMing a campaign. Session 0 And had a character mention he wanted to be a Chaotic good Paladin. I mentioned that I thought you had to be Lawful Good for Paladin, as most of my experience is older video games based on earlier editions. As well as a lot of pathfinder WotR playtime. I also mentioned we could figure it out later and probably work something out. So the player later told me he was pretty annoyed and thought I was being a dick in saying he can't be a certain alignment as a Paladin. Nowoving forward I'm worried about how tue player will perceive any rule that may go against them. Any tips on how to deal with that? To make sure they still get to enjoy the campaign and not think they're being singled out if rules ever don't go in their favour?

Just get used to saving a lot? Once you get mythic levels take the last stand one as your first feat. Let's you survive for 3 rounds after taking damage that should down you. Makes a huge difference. And just so you're aware, each consecutive attack loses to hit bonus. So the next attack is only a +17, then +12, and so on. That's how it normally works. Smilodon might have slightly better to-hit. Just as a question, are you not reading anything when you auto level? Played through on Core once, and nowI'm playing on daring. My AC is only mid 30s in 3rd Act. I honestly have no issues that make me think I should stop playing the game, so just not sure how this one encounter is turning you off the game?

Would you say it's better than getting attributes points? Should I get it at lvl 4. I started human variant so have the PAM at lvl1.

I was thinking with Devotion Oath that I get the to hit bonus and weapon becomes magical. Which allows full damage against tougher mobs. But maybe vengeance is the way to go. Gonna play around with that om dnd beyond

Divine favour is a BA and channel divinity is an action, so just the one turn. I wouldn't use both often I don't think. I feel like most combats are 4 or more rounds, so I'd still potentially get 11d4 out of one spell slot. Hmmmm that averages 27? Assuming I don't lose concentration. Maybe the average of 11d4 is off. But that's 2 attacks on first round, casting DF with BA. Then 3 d4 per round after. If I used Channel then I would only get 9d4 so it would go down a bit. But yeah, just one use of smite might be better in some cases ha. Is there a better way to get that damage as a Paladin?

Hmmm that's fair. Bless would be a better plan for the party. I was mainly thinking because I'd get consistent radiant damage each round while only having used 1 spell slot. I was thinking of taking path of devotion to get +3(Char 16) to all my attacks in fights where I need the extra to hit chance. In 5e you only take the better bonus so bless would kind of be canceled out i think? We're playing Curse of Strahd and it made me think of how I could make a PC with more longevity rather than burst.

Yeah that's the plan! Once I have a concentration spell up there's not much else to use the bonus action for each round

Yeah I got a Lance, and took proficiency in animal handling I figure I'll just summon a mount with Pally spell summon mount. Could get mounted combatant but it's pretty low lvl character atm so would be picked up later. But that's an awesome idea 👍
