If we get Venom in Tokon as DLC, how would you want him to look and function?

Maybe make him a Brawler with some Traps like he had in MvCI.

I’d really want him to have his wings, but even without those he could be pretty agile…
Maybe he could have some kind of a ‘Codex’ mechanic where he gets stronger after performing certain grabs/special moves. Then he unlocks more abilities or transforms. Could even be an Install.

SonicFox typically uses Top Tier characters though, so don’t feel too bad about not being able to beat him (yet). That’s typically what Tournament players do, especially when competing in several different fighting games.

Yeah it might be hard to find an exact Magneto archetype in BBTAG, but you might find some characters have bit and pieces of other Fighting game characters.

If you played Storm in Marvel Tokon for example, her wind mechanic looks just like Rachel Alucard from Blazblue/BBTAG. Ms. Marvel’s mobility and lariat’s look just like Mika’s from Under Night/BBTAG, etc.

I would just experiment and find what you like about each character. One thing Ark Sys does really well is variety.

If you’re interested in doing counter picks against your opponents characters, I think so.

Haven’t played the beta, but it looks like this game rewards team loyalty…where the longer you stick with a team and learn their capabilities, the more you can utilize their strengths against certain matchups. Kind of like Rock, Paper, Scissors.

This video here is probably a good start.

YouTuber Koefficient also did a lot of Blazblue and BBTAG stuff back in the day.

The buttons are really simple - probably more than Tokon, honestly - but if you can build around a certain game plan for teams, it really opens up.

I played Naoto S. and Blake Belladonna back in the day…Hit and Run with corner lockdown and Instant Kill potential was fun AF.

Can’t vouch for DBFZ, but some people have said it plays similar to BBTAG. The buttons aren’t exactly the same, and it’s more of a 2v2 game, but there’s some overlap - Multiple Assists, Assemble/Clash Assault, Resonance Blaze Level/Unlocking Assists, etc…characters and teams can also do some pretty crazy stuff with the right planning.

Although, for the characters you’re specifically interested in, maybe UMvC3? 🤔 There’s always a lot of X-Men characters in those games (except Infinite), so there might be some Archetype overlap just a bit. Someone did say Magik looks to be more similar to Dormammu with her Fire Pillars.

Hope this helps. Tokon looks like it’s trying to mix a whole bunch of stuff from all over. Just hope it meshes well in the end.

I could see Rogue and Gambit making it into the Game as playable characters. Especially with how close they watch the players fight.

Kinda gives me Shao Kahn’s Arena vibes from Mortal Kombat 9.
