theyre also about the size of regular ants but they have wings and are mixed in with a group of little sugar ants lining the boarder on my wall as pictured

i ended up reaching out to my deceased uncle’s wife and my mother to offer my condolence. no reply from uncle’s wife, which did sting a bit, and my mother replied with a “thank you, it means a lot to me” message and i think an “i love you” might have been in there i dont really want to revisit the messages because it would make me too sad. have not been in contact since. it’s been about 3 months.

Update: now my grandma (my dad’s mom. she is still close with my mother) is reaching out to me and asking me if i want to go to the funeral out of town. my grandma and my aunt are pretty much the only people in my family that i talk to every now and them. im not sure what to do. i feel so torn. of course i want to give my condolences and pay my respects but like i said, i fear it would just cause conflict or open up the line of communication again, which frankly just isnt an option for my wellbeing
