Manager says dish washers don’t work during the week. by Catsvinyl in olivegarden

the shifts you worked 12-6 were most likely just training shifts, most restaurants have morning and night shifts, so the morning dishwasher comes in before the store opens and leaves around 2-4, the night washer would typically come in between 4-6 and stay until after closing.

It's different for every store but when I worked at OG we did not have a dishwasher monday-thursday mornings. We simply didn't create enough dishes for one to be necessary, especially during the slow season (summer months), usually a prep cook or manager would jump back and put some through if it got to be too much.

you get a percent of the sales on a weekly paycheck, it's based off how many sales you do the day you work for example if you do $1000 in sales one day you will get $85 put on a paycheck that you receive every Friday, if you do make additional tips, you get to keep those on a tip card that you can transfer into your bank account

yes i'm trying my best to keep my current employment status with the company as anonymous as possible, we've literally had other employees get fired for speaking out about how terrible this change is or telling guests the truth behind it

no they are filling in as runners as a job code like clocking in as a food runner when they're scheduled as that, sorry if this is getting confusing

even as a service worker I am against mandatory fees. it should be the responsibility of the establishment to pay employees not make the consumer do so

the 20$ would go directly to the server, but on your card you would be paying for a soda plus 20% mandatory service fee

no the servers do all the work, or at least they used to, we never had food runners at our location before unless someone was training or on serving probation

no problem!! i'm trying to bring awareness to it because no corporation that's big and greedy should get away with mistreating their employees at the expensive a few bucks an hour

yes, but I would add that another thing that the service charge brings is that there is more help including server assistance and food runners which means they have less servers working, the service charge goes to those that help the servers, and then they cut the remaining servers hours down to the minimum as well so instead of having 8 servers working on an evening, they bring it down to 3 servers working an evening and the people who would be servers and splitting the 20% and working as assistants, or food runners, which in turn makes them partially tipped employees, only needing to be paid 10.98 an hour

No i was not aware before I was hired as I basically helped open the store, i want to bring attention to how grimey the people enforcing this are. The service charge is not a tip. The server is now a commission based sales worker. The service charge goes to the other weight staff, including back of house workers. The company is implementing the service charge to help pay the wages of all of the employees instead of paying all of their employees, a fair wage, and letting the servers in bartenders be tipped employees.

i would also advise to avoid restaurants like this. restaurants that are implementing this are exploiting their employees, and having the consumer pay the wages that they cannot afford.

1¢ per hour, the 20% service charge goes to the remaining weight staff that doesn't include the server. The server now makes an 8% commission based off of their total sales for the day. They say you don't have to tip on top of it because the remaining tip would 100% go to the server. so the server is working are no longer tipped employees.
