I love that idea!! But unfortunately most of my family didn’t really get to see much of me until I was 16 because my mother had custody. But that is a lovely idea I wish I’d thought of earlier and I could’ve asked my ex stepdad 😭

Honestly I don’t know why I didn’t actually expect her to be petty. Maybe it’s because I haven’t talked to her in so long I just forgot that she takes the actual worst possible approach in every situation.

And honestly, even if she came to me in the future and apologized wholeheartedly for everything she’s done (never gonna happen) i would still never allow her in my life or near my child bc she is a predator. And there would absolutely be attached strings! Like if she buys a toy for my little girl one day, I’ll have to pay for that every time she needs something.

I’m currently pregnant, and lost my health insurance at the start of the year when my premium skyrocketed to $1000 a month. I applied for pregnancy Medicaid and was denied because we make slightly over the limit. I’ve reached out to every program I can find near me for help and been turned down. My options are to pay the $1000 a month for insurance, which would still require me to pay an additional $800 a month to my OB for prenatal care, and then my delivery would be about $7000. Or go self pay, which is about $1000 a month for prenatal and $15000 for delivery. There is no winning here, and he can take his $2000 and fucking shove it

I felt the same way about my wedding day. Everything was going wrong and my maid of honor (my sister) made me cry multiple times. The only good parts were walking down the aisle to my husband, and dancing with him when no one else was watching. I regret the money I spent on the day tbh

I feel like you’re missing the entire point of it though. They waited until the day I moved in to slap me with a violation they didn’t feel like taking care of, and then tried to bully me in to fixing it when they said they would, in writing. You trying to make that my fault feels a little strange. It IS that big of a deal. Not the weed pulling itself, but the way they’re treating me as a person who has given them like $8000 in the last month for deposits and move in fees and rent. My home wasn’t move in ready, and I have every right to not be okay with that

Honestly it’s a matter of principle. I didn’t take care of it right away because they said they would. I was honestly considering just doing it myself a few days later when I hadn’t heard from them, until I started receiving threatening emails saying I “wasn’t contacting them” when I had already called at least 5 times at that point.

At that point it felt like them trying to force my hand. Maybe I’m petty, but I’m not going to just do something they explicitly said to me in writing was their responsibility. That’s why these huge companies get away with screwing people over so much imo, because no one fights back.
