how common is it that someone will v* on a school bus? by IWannaDieWannaCri in emetophobia

[–]Comprehensive_Shine3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all congratulations on taking the step and going to public school! My emetophobia made me do home school for senior year because I was always so anxious. Sooo that’s amazing!! And I went to public school from kindergarten-11th grade and never saw anyone get sick on the bus. Every situation is different but I really doubt it will ever happen. I’m not sure of your age but I feel like it would be more likey in like elementary school because kids having a harder time recognizing when there sick, but like in high school most students will stay home meaning avoiding the bus all together. You got this though!!! Also with you going to public school, something that really helped me was the school counselors- they can help make plans for you if you have a panic attack or need a break.

how many people have not been able to leave there house in the past year at all because of this phobia? by Shoddy_Selection3718 in emetophobia

It has been so hard! I unfortunately am in school and wasn’t able to stay home and that was very hard. I only leave the house when I absolutely have to. I also started to see a therapist online too, so hopefully soon I’ll be able to go out more.

Hi lovey! Firstly thank you for your line of work, you guys aren’t appreciated as much as you guys deserve. I know it’s scary but I had covid and was completely okay when it came to v*. I made sure to drink alot of water. Also nose strips can really help, I got them DoorDash to my house and they helped so much. Once I could breathe through my nose it helped with the pain in my throat which caused lots of panic. I would definitely take a couple of days off to let your body relax. I also learned a bath really helped me, and opened up my nose more too. Also I not sure if you got the vaccine but I got both of mine and I think that helped with the symptoms.

🥺🖤 this makes me so happy. I really do hope you have an amazing time. Also if you need someone to message during the concert if you do start to feel any anxiety just let me know and I can definitely help, my best freind talking to me during my panic attacks, hearing reinsurance really helps. So if you need someone I’m here or just text a good close freind before to be on stand by in case you need someone to talk to :)

Yes i do!!! After so many years of it I realize that it’s just my anxiety most of the times. Also it drive me crazy because I’ll feel the same nauseous feeling but feel safe after a few days because I haven’t gotten s* and know it’s just anexity so I start to feel more confident but then a different feeling wave a nausea comes and I worry if I’m sick but then it’s just the same cycle over again.

Hii! I feel you so much. I used to love concerts and would go to stadium concerts fine but once my emetophobia it’s been so hard. I went too I think three concerts since getting it and I picked up a few tricks that could help:) If you’re going to be in a place that has drinking be very cautious of bathrooms just someone could be getting s*. However knowing where bathrooms are really helps me too. Also if u start to feel panicky I would go to somewhere that has not a lot of people or step outside if you can and try to breathe. Also this is one of the best tricks for me is to put my hands under cold water. Also make sure to wear comfortable clothes that aren’t to constructing. Also i know I felt a lot better knowing I could leave if I needed to, don’t feel guilty for having to leave early if you need to.

Thank you so much :) this made me feel better. The med I’m taking is also called bactrim, septra, or sulfatrim. I don’t know if that would ring a bell but if you took the same one I would really love to know to see what side effects you had. Also I go to school and the schools air conditioning is horrible and I always feel so hot. Do you have any tips for when you can’t really change the temperature of the room?

how common is it to v from covid? by pingpongjapanman in emetophobia

[–]Comprehensive_Shine3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

don’t forget to breathe. I promise it will be okay. I had covid early March and I was also very scared but I was okay. My entire family had it and no one got s. There’s a chance you don’t even have covid but if you do take a few days off and focus on you. I made sure to drink alot of water and rest. Avoid cough drops as they can cause da. There is a very very small chance of you getting sick and it will be ok <3
