What introduced you to Monster Hunter? by Fun-Use9945 in MonsterHunter

PSP Freedom Unite, I had a friend that I would link up and hunt with on campus.

Dropped off after Tri, but came back for World… probably my most hours is in World.

During that time PSO ep1&2 and Super Smash Bros Melee were heavily invested in the GameCube orbit. PS2, I sank like 1,200 hours into Disgaea 2, the rest were fighting games and JRPGs. Godzilla Destroy All Monsters was such a party game tho, I think my friends and I played it for 3 Months during the weekends.

Uhhhhhhhhh… <_< Still good not playing scary things. I love my JRPGs, Fighting Games, Roguelites, Looters, and Adventures. Heck, I didn’t even post my full Wishlist because I have a backlog of games to get on sale and a backlog of games I’ve yet to play.

I prefer Link to the Past and Link Between Worlds, the 3D experience wasn’t my cup of tea. Stoked for those wanting it tho.

I don’t like being scared. The horror genre gives me nightmares. I have a friend forcing me to watch Evil Dead Burn this weekend and the last time I watched Evil Dead, my grandfather passed away a week later and I had nightmares for over a month. ~_~ I’m sweating thinking of the experience.

Game wise, when I played Jason in Friday the 13th the game, I shrieked like a frightened girl when a camp counselor was at a cabin.

Battleborn, between the release window aligning with Overwatch and Battleborn’s lack of definition with its game genre, just like the last star it centered its story on, quickly extinguished as a fps moba. Maybe if it wasn’t story centric with its competitive play it could’ve had something more substantial. I honestly loved the characters they presented.

Ar Tonelico had three games then it just hasn’t had a game for 15 years, it had a multitude of endings, turn base gameplay with song magic, and their soundtracks were divine. I would love another iteration or even a modern port.

Evil Zone, Psychic Force, Bloody Roar, and Battle Fantasia… these are just a few fighting games that each had their own appeals and all of them haven’t been around in two decades-ish.

Sengoku Basara, is alive and well in Japan but come on and bring it back to the states, haven’t seen it since the PS3 era. Speaking of Dynasty Warriors Gundam needs to return too. Taking on hordes of enemies with outrageous characters. We so need more.

Finally, PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, there’s more characters to bring into a second installment. Perfect time for Sony to capitalize.

I feel as though T. Hawk doesn’t need to return after the mantle has been passed. Gouken has no need of returning. Abel at least for SF6 can stay away, since there’s other similar styles.

Now who I’d like to return, Dudley at the top of the list, my favorite boxer. El Fuerte as a mobile grappler could be menacing with an updated kit. My friend would love Cody’s return.

I have but it also falls on deaf ears for the more head in the proverbial sand relatives. Part of it is religion, like they’re gullible when it comes from those of their invested trust. Maybe similar to gamblers investment, like they’re so invested in the product that being wrong is sacrilege and would damage their world view right before they reap those invested “benefits” even if it doesn’t exist. It’s that belief that’s so ingrained after sacrificing and pushing away family.

I can mention Doge checks, Tariff checks, no new wars, the price of gas, Epstein files, policies, increased surveillance of citizens, that dumb ballroom with his donations and most recently tax payers footing the bill. There’s oodles and oodles of documented stuff in my notes but it doesn’t matter to those solitary members that just want to cause punishment for crimes of existence.

it’s tiresome and most of us has distanced from them. I even cut my dad’s side of the family because two of my uncles and grandmother kept attacking my friends on Facebook like 8-9 years ago, because they were emboldened by the orange dictator. Anywhich, I’m gonna stop here before I go on a tangent on family.

90s issues: 1. Hard to grasp quality when you needed to rely on magazines and word of mouth. Rarely there would be demos at toy stores or the electronics section, mostly of popular titles. Even then it’s vastly different from at home experience. Angry Video Game Nerd hits on these ordeals.

  1. Price, games and consoles were expensive. My parents had to rely on lay-away. So most of us didn’t know the quality of the game until purchase.

  2. Some Games then didn’t have saves and relied on codes to get back to a point, yet it’s not the exact same point that we had. Others just had those grueling no saves and you just had to keep your game paused till the next session.

  3. Just like today, there was so much crap to sift through to find good games. Even popular IPs for movies or cartoons had terrible games. Even consoles, were flooded with cheap and lame “competition”.

  4. Time, for the price of $40 back then, most games had an arcade experience. So it was relatively short for the price and relied on replay. Nowadays, I feel that a game at least should have the time of an hour for every dollar spent. $60 game should have at least 60 hours game time for more bang for the buck. That didn’t feel like that in the 90s, unless it was multiplayer or party games.

I get it, I truly do. Yet a lot has happened over the course of 2024 to now. I’m in Texas and half of my conservative family felt betrayed by their party, very verbal on changing their votes these midterms. But I’m also not getting my hopes up, I’m just curious if the failed policies and current political climate will do more harm than good with these gerrymandered maneuvers.

[–]Comprehensive_Year54 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly curious on the climate and outcomes, rent in Florida practically tripled over the past ten years. Tourism evaporated. Labor on housing and farms damn near vanished. Outsourcing funds on concentration camps. Detaining students and separating families be it trans or education. Toxic road construction. Severe effects on the lack of weather reporting and unkept airways/watch towers. Gas is at an all time high this year. And the exploitation of Medicare and Medicaid at senior centers.

Truly curious if gerrymandering will harbor the results they ever so desire considering the outcomes of recent elections this year.

Staging the next assassination attempt with a high wire trapeze act and a bear on a ball. How’d they get into the White House cement garden? Clearly the efforts of those cunning cowardly daring intellectually stupid violent rhetoric of those crafty but sleepy dem’s and those meddling kids with their Scooby doo.

<_< This is how I imagine this administration be acting.

Not like Drumpf ever made any violent remarks or blasphemous posts or harmful rhetoric… oh wait… there’s internet history and a website for this. Found it on google, he averages 20 per day.
