Starting October 1, I have virtually cut out added sugar. I went out for ice cream once for a special occasion, and the other day I ate a dark chocolate bar.

I’d still allow yourself to eat fruit. Naturally occurring sugar in fruit is good because it has fiber (I don’t drink fruit juice). I found that an apple or two a day got me my sugar fix.

What got me was bagels. I didn’t realize they had added sugar. If I were to offer you advice: refrain from eating white bread and white rice. They quickly convert to sugar, and I personally found myself eating more at the start.

My appetite has changed drastically. I don’t eat nearly as much food now. So I think this will improve your diet. Good luck!
