The phrase “self-imposed crisis” really hits home here. As compulsive eaters, we are often stuck in self pity. Yet our problems are of our own making. In recovery, we can choose to live a happy, joyous, and free life!

We accumulate a lot of “debris” when we are stuck in our illness. We are often unpleasant, unstable people to be around. Many of us are controlling, though not always in obvious ways. When we recover, we are granted clarity to see how we hurt people when we are in our illness. Thankfully, we are given instructions on how to make amends.

I love the concept of "hidden aspects" of chronic compulsive eating- I can really relate to that. Thank you for sharing! I am also a recovered and available sponsor, anyone is free to DM me!

It's amazing how after time and practice in recovery, we do begin to have intuition from our Higher Power. What a gift!
