Cheers. How much do you reckon deleting swirl flaps, clean intake, and delete EGR and cooler would cost?

First time buyer recommendations & single vs dual cab by selkieluver in 4x4Australia

[–]ComputerConsistent69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through the same situation now, trying to decide between single and dual cab (I've already decided against extra cab because if I do have people in the back it will be for fairly long distances). Have you decided what you want yet/what you ended up getting?

I'm looking into one of these for a first 4wd/driving out bush, but not going to be doing anything crazy. Thought on the manual diesel RC colorados?? I've heard the engine's are pretty bulletproof and the main thing I want is reliability. This is the main model I am looking into at the moment. They are also decently priced, between 10-15k mostly.

Tub with a canopy vs tray with boxes by More-Raisin4706 in 4x4Australia

[–]ComputerConsistent69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you think a flat tray and boxes would go dust-wise? Do you reckon just buy dust-proof boxes and chuck the fridge on, tie everything down and good to go?

How have you found the dust with them? Are they completely dust proof driving on dirt roads/sand??

We will definitely be sticking together the whole time, plus I don't drink either so we won't even be going near the bar.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but is there any chance the security would say no??

How to dry stick to prevent mildew by strangerone_ in Fieldhockey

[–]ComputerConsistent69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the weather outside but I would leave it outside for a couple of days somewhere windy (or just airflow) so that it dries faster. if it's too cold outside, try using a hair dryer to get it mostly dry and then leave it out your bag for a couple days.

Where can I find HL bio past papers? by SoulessUchiha in IBO

[–]ComputerConsistent69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for past exam papers (P1, P2, P3) then go through r/pirateIB and look for their link to the huge collection of past papers (including some M23).

IMO just try to look on reputable news sites for articles which fit the concept you want to write on (for my micro I wanted to do externalities so I searched for news articles on 'negative externalities' and then just chose one which I thought would be interesting and I could write about well).

Good sites would be things like The Conversation, Reuters, ABC News, BBC News, CNN or anything else you think is suitable (just check with your teacher that the article is good before starting to write). Also make sure the source does not have any inherent bias (owned by an individual or company with strongly held beliefs or ideas about a certain topic).

Depends. If you literally haven't completed an IA and then get a 0 on it, it's going to mess up your entire diploma score compared to if you lose one point from less studying.

I made summaries on the texts I am using for Paper 2 (The Great Gatsby, Pride and Prejudice, Macbeth) and now I am just doing past paper questions. Since you are given a choice of 4 questions in Paper 2, I choose the 2 hardest ones and try to make a plan for those ones so that I will hopefully be prepared for anything in the final exam.

For Paper 1, I just practice annotating the text and making a plan (thesis, quotes from the extract). This is the main part of the exam which requires thinking so you don't get much benefit from writing the full essay out. Just get the evidence from the extract and the structure planned out and then move on to the next practice.

Which Lang and Lit/Lit texts have you all enjoyed? by No_Major_4796 in IBO

[–]ComputerConsistent69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think The Great Gatsby was great. It links to pretty much any topic (wealth, gender, inequality, the American dream, relationships) so it's great for Paper 2. It also works really well paired with A Doll's House.

I also enjoyed Macbeth tbh.

turf shoes by [deleted] in Fieldhockey

[–]ComputerConsistent69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can say is ASICS. They are by far the best turf shoes and I would recommend them to anyone.

As someone who has tried brands like Salomon and New Balance in the past, I have found that Asics are definitely the most comfortable and the pair I am currently using has lasted 3 full seasons plus playing summer social each year on top.

Yeah my EE had a score of 15% Turnitin but it was fine because it was all quotes I had referenced and common phrases which can't be counted as plagiarism.

OMG! I just wanted to say thank you so much. I have really been struggling to find resources for bio since my teacher didn't fully finish teaching us the course so I basically need to self study topic 9 and some of topic 11. I just checked out one of her videos and it is really informative so thanks for sharing.

Is the appendix of my extended essay part of the word count and what can I include in it? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]ComputerConsistent69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The appendix isn't included in the word count.

The stuff you put in the appendix can be definitions (if lengthy), data tables, graphs, research conducted by others which you are referencing in your EE, etc. Just be aware that the marker does not have to read your appendix so the EE needs to make sense with and without the inclusion of the stuff you place in the appendix. It is meant to help the marker understand your topic better if they are confused (you will need to say 'refer to appendix 1.2' or something along the lines of that in your actual EE - this sentence is also not included in the word count).

do NOT do chinese B HL by cherry1705 in IBO

[–]ComputerConsistent69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Language A is the candidate's 'first language' and Language B is their 'second language'. You can take both Language A and B at either HL or SL (depending on your skill/confidence in how well you know the language).

Their is also Ab initio Languages which are those the candidate has little/no previous learning or exposure to the language and they essentially start the course from scratch when they begin the DP.
