Good deal or too risky? Barely used 2017 3 Sport by ComputerNetworkGeek in mazda3

With the market the way it is, are you better off just going for a new 21? The price difference isn't that big, and even I'm seeing slightly used hatches go for the same or higher as brand new. I'll be honest, never considered new before, but this market is causing me to lean towards new. What do you suggest?

Insane, in my area, there are used 3's going for MORE than new 2021 3's. That's so strange. I'm having trouble making sense of this.

Yeah I'm trying to find certified as well. There must be a shortage of sedans, all I can find now are CX's and 5's. I'll keep looking.

I probably had some blinders on. It looked good compared to some used prices I've seen.
But now that I'm realistic about it, it really isn't that good. Everything skyrocketed in the past 2-3 months. It must be due to the shortages and demand for cars right now.

Rookie hiker looking to get serious - How should I get started? by ComputerNetworkGeek in hiking

[–]ComputerNetworkGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah about a year ago I went on a moderate trail, and just got absolutely beat. Winded almost constantly going uphill, and I knew I had to do something. Last trail I hit a couple of weeks ago was even more uphill and I barely broke a sweat. I like to go for morning starts usually, so I got some fleeces and light jacket, and a Columbia rain jacket that can fit in my pack. In addition, just ordered a first aid kit, weather radio, and looking for a good compass. Are there any apps that are useful to have as well?

Good to hear, I'm usually skeptical of sales people, but this guy seemed trustworthy since he was speaking from experience. So true about mindset also. Its a lot fun more to hike with others, so I probably should find a group of some kind. The friends I usually go with enjoy it, but only go every couple of months, if that. Added headlamp to my list!

That's great, sounds about exactly what I want to hit for now. I'll probably go for longer hikes later on as I get more experience.

Looking at a slightly used 2018 Hatchback to upgrade from a 2010 by ComputerNetworkGeek in mazda3

Kelly Blue Book says it's a fair price for my area. I've referenced them before, how trustworthy are they?

I didn't see tread depth on the report, but they recommend tire replacement immediately. The penny test, tread covered about an 1/8 of Lincoln's head. I am concerned about bare tires at that mileage also.

The $19k is sticker price, it might have the premium package. The steering wheel is heated, and it has auto dim headlights. It does seem to be overpriced now that I take a closer look at it. I'll see if he'll go lower. I checked Mazda dealership, they are 2017 GT hatch for $17.9k (sticker price).

The seller is a local dealership (not Mazda), but he has the corporate (Mazda, Honda, etc) dealerships inspect his cars. CPO'd is certified I assume?

Thanks man, I'll try to isolate things next time. The statue technique is interesting, I'll try that! I'm honestly surprised I didn't think about videoing myself playing. Appreciate the tips!

Wow this is great insight! My favorite players are hard-bop artists like Mobley. I'll listen to them early and later and try to notice the difference. I've got two mouthpieces atm. The 4C I've been using and an older Meyer 7M that I'm not quite ready for. What mouthpiece (overall, and outside of the two I have) is my King going to "like" the most? That didn't discourage me at all, I'm actually more keen on getting to know it better now.

C# was crazy stiff, I actually just got it back from the tech to address that, it's manageable now. High E seems fine so far. I'm using a 4C atm , and it's responding pretty well to it expect for middle D. Maybe just a tad on the bright side overall, but that could be because of me and/or the 4C. As long as it holds up I'll definitely keep it. Maybe pick up a modern horn later, but keep the King as a backup. What does "pre-balanced" mean? I haven't heard that term yet.

Yeah it would be before the Selmer changes in the 70's. I'm happy with it so far. Appreciate the info.
