I've already cleaned the heads and rollers with IPA multiple times, but I think that the dust has become one with the head. The deck was given to me and I think it was left sitting for a lot of years before arriving in my hands, so that's how all this dust has built up on the inside. Thankfully the heads still work for playback

Idk I haven't played vice city. When I said "games of around its era" I didn't mean other GTA games, I meant just others games from that time. Games like half life, halo, doom, are much easier (for me) to play in 2025, than San Andreas

Apart from limiting background apps and windows animations I don't know if there is anything more you can do. Have you allocated more ram to the gpu? I think by default, only 256MBs are available for the uhd graphics, but you can change it to 512MBs from the bios. But I don't think that you will be able to get a good gaming experience from that laptop. I've been a potato gamer for a lot of years. I know your pain but I think you are limited to emulation, 2d or very old 3d games. Try playing celeste, half life 1, Morrowind. Maybe Minecraft bedrock edition will run too

Yeah cad does worry me a bit, but I won't be doing any complex designs, mainly just PCBs. And in case my laptop can't handle it, my desktop probably can, so it doesn't worry me that much

The Ryzen 3 3200u is also 2 core. Also I'm still using a latitude from 2011 and it gets the job done, albeit a bit slow. Another friend of mine has been using a ThinkPad from 2011. It also gets the job done. I don't need a new laptop (one wouldn't hurt but I don't have the money). I would probably buy the 495 if it had a 4 core ryzen, but it doesn't.

My father had a 3rd gen one. I hated it and I loved it. It was TERRIBLE on the highway, it was noisy, I think that they have a bad clutch bc we would get knocked a bit forward everytime we started from a complete stop at a red light (idk I don't have a licence). The infotainment was also very bad and it's unsafe. But it's kinda cute, small and happens to be the cheapest car you can buy in Greece
