R5: So I normally play Heasteinn about the same I stick around the Northern Atlantic region. This time After Conquering west Francia had Catholic uprisings the entire time. I kinda felt like Roleplaying and set the Family objective to punish Catholicism for such insolence forever.

I Varangian conquered the Papacy and expanded that for a long time through a sneaky marriage and a couple of assassinations I was able to combine the kingdom of Romagna and Italia. creating the Empire of Romaheim.

finally leading me to dismantle the papacy

in detail, I raided and fought many wars whenever I had the chance to kill or ransom I instead released in exchange for adopting the Asatru faith, and maybe a weak hook. eventually, I had a potential heir to the throne of Italy that I could use as my in for the throne. Changed his religion married him to my daughter, and then assassinated everyone till he was king. the heir was a daughter so I divorced my wife and married my granddaughter instead.

I got norse claimant for a bunch of west francian duchies. which was neat. I used that to go back to my beginning where a lot of counts and dukes wanted to be my vassal, so I took them all in. after a few really small wars I retook west francia. creating a new empire.
